B9 A4/S4 - Little Surprises

Mine seems to be different then, here's the scenarios

61mph firm push - 65mph
63mph firm push - 65mph
65mph firm push - 70mph
7-mph firm push - 75mph

so mine only takes it up to the next 5mph increment, not increase the speed by 5mph

so 63mph will not take me to 68mph on a firm push
Yeah that's what mine does. Wow, war and peace :)

Really love the Audi MMI App. Parked the car and went for a walk up the beach with the family and dogs. About 500 yards up the path, the wife asks "did you lock the car ?" I shrug my shoulders, get my mobile out and check via the MMI app. Yup, the app confirmed it was locked and all windows were closed.
The little things are so appealing to me, that's one of the reasons I married my 4'11" wife. :friends:
Ps, still loving me car.

Tell us how you managed this witchcraft? I followed the instructions but didn't have the option to enter the code that came with one of the keys.

It only works with vehicles equipped with the sos module...

If you have Audi Connect you can do it through the "MyAudi" page. I followed the instructions and got an email to accept the use agreement once it had been completed.

Which is a small number of MY16 cars, and seemingly unintentionally as Audi still say it's not available for the A4 yet.

Correctly stated mjcourtney, its a shame it is not available for everyone as it is very useful (and cool). Aviva Insurance have even recognised the app as I can track the car on it as well.

the mmi app i have has no locking status listed...............

My car finder on the mmi app only works if I tell it I've parked the car - it doesn't even work on the car's location, only the location of my phone when I mark the position.
Is this another thing that doesn't work for MY17 cars?

Yeah I have the same issue. Bags of potential on the app as shown above but not for me.

You're quite right. Having posted the above this morning I did a longish m-way drive on cruise control and was fiddling with the speed as the traffic was fairly heavy and speeds were fluctuating. As I was toggling between speeds I realised I hadn't expressed the gradations very well. So thanks for clarifying what I should have said.

The MMI app and "my Audi" seem like a huge clusterfuck to me.

Yup! Such potential wasted, there's an Esim so comms possible, why only with an sos button!

Someone at work has a Skoda Octavia and when he leaves the car it automatically records the position on Apple maps. If you look in the settings for maps on the iPhone it has a toggle for "show parked location" which I think is triggered when the Bluetooth connection to the car cuts off (when you leave the car).
Not even this works on the A4!

That works fine on my A4 @Pork - it's a learning thing of the phone

There is a parking setting in the iPhone which is not linked to MMI but as you say, triggers when the Bluetooth disconnected. It worked fine in my old VW Golf so not sure why it doesn't work on your A4?

When we were travelling on the M25 and traffic was slow, the car had Adaptive cruise control on with Predictive Assist and Traffic Jam Assist and it was steering itself! It was discovered by accident really as I took my hands of the wheel for a few seconds and noticed the wheel making slight movements clockwise and anti clockwise and continued to leave my hands off but having the hovering within a few mm from the wheel.

Strange to see how the car steers for you! I looked at the manual this afternoon and there it is :readit:

Lol. I don't feel such a muppet for being unable to find the washer fluid cap now :D

Did you not know??

Nope, since I have only had the car 8 days and for 7 of those days it has been parked up and the first day it was driven back from the dealer with no time for playing with controls.

on the Audi A6 I had, which had lane assist etc... it would deactivate the moment I took my hands off the wheel! so it was a surprise when it was doing its thing.

Not exactly. Mostly I just pulled my surprised face when the car began to accelerate without my input, but I had a larger surprise when I saw a 100mph speed limit sign on the dash! Must figure out what is triggering it and report it to someone. Clearly it's a bit of a bug, since there are no legal 100mph roads in the UK, so even if it thinks it sees that particular sign, it should ignore it. Who to report it to?

Holy s**t, that's serious. If this was America there would be class-actions suits in the post already from owners unable to stop their cars (I'm not kidding: Wikipedia - "Audi unintended accelertion").

I did not see this post - but I am willing to bet the camera saw a 100kph speed restriction on the back of a European vehicle and mistakenly figured that was the speed limit! Anything computer recognition is going to have its faults and this is explained in the manual

Nah it's actually a 10T weight limit sign that triggers it. I'll try to remember to get the Mrs to take a photo next time we drive past.

Yup but we still have coffee cups with "Caution, contents may be hot" not doubt after someone sued because they weren't warned.

Yup. Totally agreed
I don't expect an infallible system.

Just realised the Amazon Music App is now working with CarPlay.

Looks like it came in with the last update of the Amazon App. When I picked my car up a month ago it wasn't appearing as an app, although I did manage to play through the car somehow.

You can now select the app and navigate through libraries and playlists using CarPlay.

Yeah! I was using it on the way home this evening, I have prime but not the music unlimited subscription, and it's the best CarPlay app I have used so far. Knocks the socks off TuneIn Radio which is not just buggy, but like an infestation!

My friend has a Jag F-Pace and his app is so much better than the Audi one. He can unlock the car, start it remotely, put the heaters on etc ready so it's nice and warm when he gets to the car.
