Seems my wife likes my S3, and what with the daughter about to take the 7 year old Corsa as her first car she is looking for something new.

Am helping her choose! With a gentle shove towards a TT, she like the roadster.

Of topic I know but any tips on what to go for

Thanks

They do a 1.8 version which is a fair bit cheaper. However, most people say pay the extra and get the 2.0 version.

The black edition looks nice in the TT.

I had the 2.0 tdi ultra before my S3, that's a great engine and from behind it sounds more petrol like than diesel. I'd recommend getting the sound and comfort pack as the standard stereo in the TT is dreadful, in fact really bad. Virtual cockpit works really well in the TT.

Buy her the 1.8 tfsi and stick some s3 badges on she might not notice ;)

My wife got hers in November.
It's a Black 1.8 TFSI Coupe SLine.
I'm really impressed with how it drives. So much so I wouldn't worry too much about stepping up to the 2.0.
The 1.8 is quite punchy and certainly no slouch. Ours is a manual and likes to be revved.
The Mk3 TT is a real step up in spec compared to the Mk2 (virtual cockpit, drive Select etc).
All of our TT's (on our fourth now) have been Coupes and the advantage they have over the Roadster is although the back seats are only for kids or pets, when folded down the hatchback provides half decent space for storage.
Need any more info, just shout mate.
