The wife has just bought me a private plate for my birthday (not till June)

Where's best to get them made up, thinking of sticking on instead of screwing?

Are metal embossed plates legal?

When I took my private plate off the last car I got replacements from eBay, decent quality for the price.

Came supplied with screws and sticky pads to fit as you like, just need to drill them if using screws.

smooth! i think i will get some, in fitting with german design :)

could get smaller ones too as it's only a 5 character plate - but the recess on the A6 grille is the perfect size for a standard plate

Might just have to wait till my birthday to put them on!

I've got pressed plates from a seller on eBay. They have the bs mark and postcode of supplier which i believe makes them fine. Also have standard lettering and fonts.

Metal pressed might not bend around curves of the grille or number plate holder. They have borders pressed too.

I think, I've seen maybe one plate metal pressed but few already as gel ones I got. Only on the nice cars, tho

I've just ordered a set for mine

5 digit plate so the front I have had made smaller in length but still legal digits

Rear will be a standard size plate with a gb badge on the end as we drive in Europe a lot

i was going to get ones with a GB badge... but they'll need changing when we leave the EU :)

I like to keep it plain and simple so have nothing else that is not required to be legal. Added on GB magnetic oval when was driving to Europe to be on the safe side.

I use doubletwist, free, picks up all your itunes library & you can transfer playlists etc as well.

As for plates, I go for shortened, never been stopped:
