The old engine leaked quite a lot of oil, had done 187000 miles and the turbo had gone, the newer AWT had 110000 miles and didn't leak any oil so it was just easier to swap the lot.

I'm not entirely sure yet Aragorn, for now I just want to learn as much about these as I can and make sure the maintenance side is up to scratch

Its a hybrid like any other. Who knows the quality of the parts they're using.

You might as well just buy a beachbuggy K280, its the same price and we know they dont explode.

Hi, didn't you swap a new loom into the engine bay? Was it very awkward?

Bill tuned a nice two litre stroked Leon which you can compare to a standard tuned 1.8t Leon albeit with a 3" TIP.

Rats. All my file names are too long to upload for some reason so I'll have to change them.on the computer later.

The stroker is running a gt3071r and the power graph shows it is only down 15-27 bhp from 2500rpm to 3500/3750rpm. By the time 4000 rpm comes it's up 35 bhp and from then on it rockets to 467 bhp at 7000rpm or so where the k04 has back off to 255 bhp. 210 bhp up. Even atp eliminators don't hold out as good a power level at as high an rpm and don't really offer any benefit in the lower rev range.
