Just read it, very positive review. However as usual moron journo comparing it to the golf r.praised the ride and handling saying it's much more engaging and no understeer like with previous versions. Very fast. Steering superb. Issue they say is price. they say inside knowledge is the saloon will be £47k plus options!!!!! Ceramic brakes will be just over £6k. So they ssy its great but consideting price its a massive amount more than a Golf r and with a few options and ceramic brakes it's getting near bmw m4 money. I disagree with idiot reviewer because that's comparing a fully loaded rs3 saloon with a poverty spec m4. I can assure the idiot reviewer that you need will ALOT more than £55k for an m4. My mate has an m3 and thats fully loaded and cost him nearer £70 once you add a decent exhaust, steering wheel, m sport parts.

Anyway as for the rs3, crazy pricing. Silly greedy Audi.

Saloon looks really nice and probably nicer than the sport back. However I wonder if the residuals on the sport back will be better in the uk

Golf R is a nice car and great vfm. No comparison to RS3 though as not in same "purchase league" imho eg not competitors.

You can pick up a delivery mileage M3/M4 with Competition Pack for about £53k so they do make a valid point.

Having had a Golf R for two years prior to the RS3 I can confirm the Golf is a great car. And seriously good value. The RS3 just has more theatre and feels infinitely more special.

not new though. not keen on bmw m3/m4 though as im not interested in going sideways around roundabouts. Plus the interior is a bit of a mess

Yes new, I had an m4 competition package with, dct, nav pro, Harmon kardon, heated steering wheel, reversing camera, carbon inlays and a few other options I can't remember as well as all the standard spec which is far better than the rs3, that was £53k brand new, but sold it as I thought it was crap, wasn't that fast and couldn't put any power down

66 plate and delivery mileage means brand new to me and you've got to admit for the (suggested) similar price to FL RS3 it's certainly a contender.

I'm sure many a BMW owner would laugh at the thought of spending over £50k on 'just an A3' but it's all down to personal preference isn't it? Hence the comment about the Golf R being a better value option for a great performing hot hatch.

I came extremely close to buying an M4 but in the end went with the RS and I couldn't be happier with my choice but let's be realistic here there are plenty of other options and that's all that's being pointed out in the press article.

Yes it's just an a3, but the refinement and quality of the rs3 outdoes the m4, I sold my m4 comp with 1500 miles on the clock for £51k, 3 months old and £11k less than retail. You will not find any rs3 doing that!

The more expensive the car the more it will depreciate after it leaves the showroom, depreciation is all relevant to list

The rumour is that RS3 will "always" be built in small numbers so in theory should hold its value reasonably well. Mk1 was a limited edition of course but they still didn't build that many of the mk2 vs say a M3 etc.

Point me to the dealer, £70 for all that is a complete give away :highly amused:

Sorry, couldn't resist it!
