Picked the car up today. Love it.

I will get some pictures up tomorrow.

One thing I need to ask though, I connected my phone via Bluetooth easy peasy. Then when I stream music from Spotify on my phone ( Android) it doesn't show the track name and I can't skip tracks from any of the car controls.

Is there somit I can do to change it?

Nope, Audi have removed the wireless playback controls.

You have to plug it in to the USB port in the centre console.

Thanks

Really? That's a bit rubbish

Yes it's correct.

My 63 plate A3 allowed me to pause, play and skip playback via Bluetooth. The only thing you couldn't do was see lists of music.

Every 65 plate onwards A3/S3/RS3 I've driven since, the control ability has been removed and you have to plug it in to access it.

I just got my A3 Sportback FL last friday. Only been playing the music on the phone but through bluetooth I can see playlists, songs, song details and control whatever I like.

Ot's an iPhone 6 with latest iOS.

Yeah I thought you were saying it was just removed for the FL @AudiNutta

I can confirm that my 16 plate PFL works perfectly over bluetooth, skipping tracks and showing song names etc

Maybe just an Android thing.

I'm on a FL, IOS though, and have no problems over Bluetooth. See tracks, skip functions, etc..

The thing I find most annoying is it actually automatically resumes playback as soon as it connects every time. I find this annoying for audio books and podcasts as I like to get settled before playback so I don't miss the content.

My Galaxy S6 Edge (android 6.0 I believe) was OK

Currently using an iPhone 5 temporarily which is on the latest iOS and also OK

Strange, mine doesn't.

I have definitely seen it in PFL, I've driven 2x S3's, 5x RS3's (1 of which I tested it in, haha) and 3/4 standard A3's. I had the same with an A1 too. But, there was an MMI update either the beginning of last year or the end of 2015, which stopped the Bluetooth working on iOS devices.. Apple had to update to get it to work again. I think this must be the update that took the controls out.

You say apple had to update to make it work... so providing your iOS is up to date it should work regardless?

Strange because like I say mine is 2016 so will likely have the update you mention done from factory, and my iP5 is working fine

I noticed the issue at first when I had a brand new 65 plate A1 as a courtesy car. I tried to play the Bluetooth back, all I got was static. I told Audi thinking it was a problem with the car, he said no they updated the MMI's and iPhones didn't work on them yet.
It appears to be that with this update, the controls have disappeared too.. not a fault with the iPhone, but the car. On mine, I cannot find a menu that allows me to skip songs on Bluetooth. I never use Bluetooth now in the S3, I always plug it in as habit and the sound quality is better anyway.

On my 63 plate A3, the bottom left corner (on the screen) button was the "controls" screen access. On all the newer cars I've driven since, that button seemed to have been missing. The FL has gotten rid of those 4 buttons, now there is just one on the left and one on the right and none of the sub menus seem to have a controls option. I will have to have another dig one day, seeing as somebody with a FL has these controls.

My phone recently did an update to android 7 so maybe a compatibility thing.

But sounds like software on the car is the up to date version. Because there are no controls for music available. Which is a pain if I want to change track while driving. I'll order a mum cable see if that helps
