I know I've posted this before but I thought I would have one last go before I buy a new one.
Anyone know how to fix the dodgy volume control on a Concert header? I get the impression its a common problem.
I've had it out and in bits but theres not a lot I can do apart from try and clean out the little sender the volume nob sits in. Is this were the problem is or does somthing else cause the mischief?
And forget about warranty, that ran out ages ago.

Cheers all

Haven't got an answer, but theres a couple of Concerts on ebay at the moment, one finishes tommorrow (Tuesday 28th) and is currently at £52.
Search under automotive\Audio then search Audi

Ben,

If you cant manage to fix this, and get a new one. I may have a home for your old one.
The display is cracked on mine and I have been living with it.
I dont know if I'll be able to butcher it to get the LCD screen out, but if your old one is going cheap enough I may be able to take it of your hands and have a go /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

PM me if your interested.
Regards

I've been to the Audi dealer and their best deal is based on an exchange unit i.e. swap mine for reconditioned one. I also thought about getting hold of a broken one and combinining the 2 but get the feeling without knowing exactly what the problem is it may be a wild goose chase. In fact here is a faulty one on ebay at the moment that may interest you Paul, only a £10 with 2 days to go.

Nice one Ben cheers for that, I've put in a bid, fingers crossed.
I dont know how easy changing the screen will be but its worth a go. I'm quite handy with a soldering iron so time will tell.
How much was a recon one from Audi?

no probs, about £115, beats the £200 odd for a new one tho I guess
