Hi guys look and which one shall i get for christmas?

Roadpilot looks cool!!!

Road Pilot

However no Radar/Laser unless you wanna play another £200

Or the Snooper S6-R Neo, doens't look as nice but covers everything known from the police even mobile video vans known in thr GPS system.

Help please post, as you will decide for me if you will.

I have the Snooper S6-R Neo and love it to bits.

It has a nice clear screen and have had no troubles from it.

I hear tho that they detect radar / laser mobile units too late.....is this true?

Roadpilot Micro would be my choice I guess. No need for yet another (big-ish) lcd in my car...

I think they do warn you in time, they were tested very good, along with Origin B2. Thing is GPS based 'detectors' ONLY warn you for known locations in the (vast) database, for vehicle based mobile speed traps etc. you'll need a radar detector. The two combined is a good way to go me thinks.

A laser detector is a different animal. In fact the detectors may not be so useful, since they CAN warn you too late when your car is targeted. The idea is that if someone else's car is targeted it detects the signal and warns you. To be fully protected you'd want a laser 'deflector' (a.k.a. 'garage door opener'), which results in an 'error' message on the laser gun. However: these are basically illegal. (you'd have a lot to explain in court to convince them it's for opening a garage or illuminating your vast driveway...)

I have had both the Geodesy Plus and Roadpilot in my time.

The Geodesy was basic but did the job, no hassle install and easy to keep hidden etc. etc.

The Roadpilot screen was far to big for my liking and was a pain to install as the bracket didn't really work. However the unit and software were brilliant, had loads of useful faetures and some features I never used. The unit I will go for shortly will probably be the new micro road pilot. I need the extra aerial as well as none of the GPS systems with will work through a heated front windscreen. So you have to postion the aerial elsewhere.

P.S.

David come on reply to the post about your age pre-occupation...please

I wish they'd make it with red back light though. I bet a lot more folks would be interested in that as well. I've asked if they were going to, but have had no reply so far. Maybe some more demands for a red version would encourage them...?

I'm wondering if the Navi GPS antenna could be used for this as well? I'm not too keen on extra areals etc.

To be honest I have not had the opportunity to test my unit on a mobile camera as there have been none since I purchased the S6R Neo (typical), but it has worked perfectly fine with the GPS side of it all
