Not sure if this a common problem, but lately when opening up the car and starting up the radio isn't on and have to switch it on manually. It's not always done this, but it has started to do it more and more.

Not sure if it's a battery issue, anyone else experienced this?

Not sure if it's related, but normally when pressing the remote to open the car the doors unlock and the interior lights come on, but this also stops from time to time and the lights only come on when I open the drivers door.

Low battery charge would be my guess, if I haven't drove the car for a few days my radio stays off until I press the button. I currently have the low battery charge message aswell so I'll be looking for a replacement soon. Fine when put a few miles in though.

I was thinking low battery, but I drive it every day. Unless it's time for a new one, as think it's still the same battery from when it was new which makes it over 5 yrs old.

My battery died a few weeks ago while driving to work. First the MMI shut down then the ESP warning light came on, then minutes later the dash lit up with loads of other errors. Needed a jump start. Eight year old battery so not so bad. A VCDS scan showed loads of fault codes including Energy Management Active. I think the car will shut down non essential stuff to save power.

Sounds like I need to look for a new battery before It packs up all together.

I think the battery would be worth getting tested.

As an aside on my S4 the radio turns off if I have been listening to mp3s via the SD card slot. In my case I'm pretty sure it's just a bug with the radio software.
