Facelift The new guy and his story so far !

Hi folks,

Thought I'd introduce my self.

Attempt two as I posted in the wrong thread previously

Ok so ware to start, I had a 2015 s3 bought it brand new March 2015 all the options you could imagine, this was because I took the showroom car

️ sepang blue.

I had the car one year and my sons Mrs decided to have a baby

so I needed a bigger car!! I made the mistake of changing to the a6 3l tdi black edition 272 stunning car and have owned it for one year now. Purchased march 2016 have missed the S3 ever since.

So 2 weeks ago I decided to go back to Audi may I add for a browse

then I seen it the FL S3

️️ as you may have figured from my previous history need I say more I ordered one ! S3 sportback BE FL Daytona grey and yes you guessed it March 2017 delivery can't wait.

I have ordered mine with the Standard 18" BE alloys I was unsure of these to start however I have managed to see a picture of them in real time rather than the computer generated ones and I must say they compliment the car very well.

Anyway I won't go on for now keep tuned once the car arrives I will post pictures for your viewing and can comments.

Thanks buddy, yeah love the A6 for what it is however just never got over parting with the S3. I'm a nightmare to be honest hoping to fall straight back in love with the sportback BE FL model.

I did not spec super-sport seats this time or elec folding mirrors hope I don't live to regret that decision or may be march next year am back! Surely not

divorce springs to mind

Thanks for sure they will be here. Look forward to the comments positive and negatives I'm sure. Hope the wheels look good or I'll have to purchase new ones. Tell the wife I swapped them she won't look in the garage

Thanks Sandra, I think knowing it's there will slow the week down, worst of it is I was due off today. The joys of oil industry I guess

Hope you miss the storm that's coming in (Thursday I think) would hate you to be stuck offshore and be delayed collecting the car.

Hey all,

Hope use are all enjoying the new cars or existing ones lol.

I have now done 800 miles in a week with the new S3.

I will start with my regrets due to penny pinching as this was my third brand new car in 2 years

I regrets not getting super sort seats, electric folding mirrors and virtual cockpit.

However none of the above stops the smile in my face when I drive the car around town, motorway or country roads the car drives as you'd expect and then some. Pure weapon when you want it and comfortable family car when I need it to be (not very often )

Mpg for those who are concerned may I add I am not, anyway I have achieved 38mpg at best however probably average about 18 in town.

Wheels are growing on me however may change these for a set of Revo 19s not sure

Do I think this is faster than my 2015 s3 not quite sure potentially and does sound slightly better when driven hard.

Space wise going from the 3 door to sportback yeah it's slightly better but again not much anyway who cares right

Inside the car other than my regrets no real change from previous as always a classy place to sit.

Overall rating of the cars looks very pleased as I am with the performance also.

I have seen some post on here about the exhaust pipe and how to clean, I have just washed the car after 800 miles and I used autoglym super resin polish with micro fibre cloth works a treat

Sweet car Billy! Colour is lovely but seeing those wheels has completely justified my reason for changing my order at the last minute. For me, the SE wheels are far nicer on 18's. Not sure what Audi were thinking with these BE wheels, they don't set the car up at all. That colour though! Wow!

Are the door mirrors that much of a retrofit? Surely they could be done by the dealer? I get the cockpit might be a bit of a stretch...
