Economy Increase?

Bit of an odd question I know, but this is confusing me. I often drive from Birmingham to Hull, each time I usually get an average mpg of 37 ish. Today I did the same drive and averaged 45.5mpg, I didn't consciously do anything different, slightly concerned that half my engine might have stopped working! Has anyone else seen this sort of jump for no reason? It's a 3.0TDi Quattro with the tiptronic box.

She's a bit heavy for pushing up the motorway!

I was listening to more chilled out music than normal, maybe that made me drive more gently but without noticing?
