Hi, I'm new here and a complete novice.
Yesterday I brought a 52 plate, 8L Sport, 1.8 non-turbo with 57k on the clock. Basically, I'm wondering if this is the same engine as the turbo version and if I could stick either a turbo or supercharger on it?

Same engine family, but differences

crank, pistons, cams, etc etc

eg not just bolt on turbo and go

If think your shells really worth it, do an engine swap

easier+cheaper
 
Be a shame to loose such a low mileage engine for the extra power but it is an option. I did look at remapping but I'll only get an extra 13hp!!!!

I take it the engine mounts are in the same position and can I run it through my stock gear box, brakes etc...?

Best option is to sell it and buy a 1.8T. Not really worth the time and effort to convert a 1.8 NA engine to a 1.8T
