So, after a few months of looking, found a car i like however, its over 300miles from where i live.

Normally i wouldnt mind the road trip, especially on the way back, however, having a little one just a few weeks old, i really cant be doing that long of a haul with her (no carers).

Have asked the branch manager if he would allow the sales rep to drive 100miles south to another Audi dealer, and ill make the rest of the journey, even offered to pay the fuel for them and taxi back, but received a flat out no.

Is there anything that can be done to get them to budge a little?

It's unlikely that they will move it, only way would be by putting a deposit down but then the car is yours!!

That's pretty pants on Audi's part. I've had two previous cars moved from dealer to dealer. One being a VX and the other a BM. Both dealers happy to get them in to get the sale. Only condition on the VX one was that I paid a £100 non-refundable deposit. BM did it for nowt, and I never bought the BM.

An Audi salesman said to me last week that they have a good guy/bad guy chart on the wall. The good guys are those dealers that have responded positively to their request for a car from the other, non group, dealer's stock. The bad guys won't give cars up. This allows them to instantly judge whether they want to do a favour for that other dealer. Scratch my back etc.

Maybe in this case the other dealer was not on the good guy list?

New or second hand car?

Second hand..

An Audi salesman said to me last week that they have a good guy/bad guy chart on the wall. Possibly, however it wasn't a single dealer i suggested.. I asked anything from 50-100miles closer. So they could have chose a 'preferred' dealer.

That is poor service in my opinion.

A little far fetched, but maybe put the deposit down as mentioned above and then ask for a full refund if you decide against it. surely if the car is not 100% as advertised you are within your right as a consumer regardless of what Audi say. Or even if you change your mind...

Little update, complained to Audi UK and a few execs from an email i found from a previous complaint many years ago.. Branch manager called me back today advising they're happy to drive to my house! :sign wow:

Mercedes drove my car to the house and took my part ex away!

The guy even showed us around the car so we understood the controls and was happy with it.

as usual - some very good Dealers and then there are others ..................
2003 - local dealer in Camberley got me a S3 from Kent, Kent happy to release it , (had 6k miles on it)
Camberley went and collected it, then guess what .......... it was a great car.

I usually find if a dealer isn't bending over backwards then a quick call to Audi HQ gets things moving
