Gave mine a quick wash today after having a pair of Hankooks fitted to the fronts, debadged the rear and took a pic of the Golf MK7 alloy pedals + footrest which i had on my last car (MK7 Golf GT) - footrest is different between the 2 cars as the A3 has an extended piece of plastic from the rest extending behind the clutch pedal so i removed the alloy part of the Golf rest and fixed it to the A3 rest using allen bolts/ nuts as it's the same shape so a perfect fit

Nice job on the footrest, the manual cars have the thinner footrest, we lazy dsg drivers have a wider plastic footrest, so I just covered the bare area with some cut off carpet, don't notice the difference otherwise.
I don't live in mt footwell.

Is your dash cam placement not blocking the Matrix / High Beam Assist Camera?

The verdict was yes... it is, you are correct.
Camera will be moved up and left (unless the recommended placement has changed). Such a noob mistake :)
@Rob2k68 (and anyone else) would welcome pics of your installed location.
Cheers for the advice people.

... Wondering why I couldn't hide mine out of the way of the mirror as much as you have.

Don't install the front like this!

Just opened up my clearmount today, popped the square plate between iPhone and leather case. Magnet still sticks rock solid through the leather case.

Don't install the front like this!

I'm a pre face lift with high beam assist but I'd imagine that the camera line of sight and vision cones to be very similar. The black print on the screen should be the same so you can use this as a guide. My position still allows adjustment of the mirror and only an inch of it is visible from the driving position the mirror mostly hides it :-

You like? Contemplating one myself. Did you buy direct from U.S? Any shipping issues?

Yes it's so simple yet so effective like the best ideas are I guess - would recommended.

No shipping issues or tax bill as yet - ordered from U.S (Canada I think) Monday and it arrived Friday!

Would the option for tracked shipping heighten the likelihood of getting stung for import duty do you think?

I'm lead to believe that if goods plus postage are over a certain value then you will be liable for duty but not sure what that value is.
