Well there you have it. Only come on if the lights are on when ignition is turned on.

This don't work with lights put on with switch. Does anyone know if the lights on the side of the centre column are on the footwell lights should be on? There's guys with stronic issues and here's daft me twisting about poxy footwell lights.....only like them as my dads volvo had them when I was a kid back in 84'

@S.line No - they are controlled separately from the foot well lights. On the extended LED interior the lights on the central column are linked to the lights above the door handles. Then you have a 3rd control for ambient piece which sits to the rear of the door (glows down onto the door fabric).

Do your footwell lights come on if getting in the car at night and stay on?

My footwell lights only come on when getting in / out, when driving along they are not on.

Am I right in thinking that the only difference between the standard led light package and the extend package is to customise the colour scheme?

I am certain they do, they light up white when you unlock the car / open a door after driving but glow the colour I set when driving.

+1 confirmation that it's not there, checked last night and like you cuke, would have sworn it was! So, we come full circle, was a popular VCDS mod this back in the day, so much so I think that's why it became an MMI/DIS tickbox. Now it seems to have become hidden again :sob:
Have just added some details on how to adjust this in the VCDS modification thread:

Was diving down the road this morning and realised that the passenger door was ajar.
No indication at all on the dash.
Really surprising as I cant remember the last car I had without this warning.

I have had this before with a rear door, so has one other. It's weird because it does warn you sometimes..

Yep, had this. Also quite happily locked and flashed the indicators even though my rear passenger door was wide open. It's either a dodgy sensor or some wonky software somewhere.

Opppps, I think maybe I didn't explain myself properly...
What I was trying to say was that this expensive car does not have a system to warn you when you leave a door ajar (which I find surprising)...not that it does but didn't work for me this morning.

Are you saying that there IS a system to warn when a door is ajar?

It didn't work once then I am sure it did the next time, so I guess yes. Although I feel the need to test it again...

Can you remember what form the warning took?

It works for other people on here too, I think it was just a door sign with a chime...

Thank you.
I've never seen it...maybe I've never left a door ajar until today!

It works for me. It's a graphic immediately in front of the driver on the DIS. I had folded my rear seats yesterday and loaded some stuff for the tip. As I was fastening my seat belt ready to set off, I looked down at the DIS and it was showing one of the rear doors not properly closed. I had omitted to close it after folding the rear seats.

Rear door open alert works fine on our standard DIS also.

It's in the manual, but easy to miss...If the car does not engage "Coasting Mode" because it thinks the gradient is over 10% or some other random reason, you can trigger it by pressing the upshift flappy paddle.

What is this post in relation to please?

To save fuel, the car will disengage the gearbox (engages neutral*) and hence the drivetrain when you lift off the throttle. Display changes from "D8" or E8" etc to "D" or "E". As soon as you touch the throttle pedal, the gearbox is re-engaged.

* Yes, I know this is a bit of a stupid expression.

I usually just let the car connect to my iPhone over Bluetooth and listen to whatever music is on there. Initially I was a bit disappointed with sound quality compared to my previous car that also had the Audi Sound system. I fiddled about with the sound settings and got it something like 'normal'. Just the other day though, I decided to give Apple CarPlay a spin as I found navigating around the music folders in the MMI a bit tedious. The sound transformed with richer bass tones, crisper high range and a lot more punch overall, the sound is much nicer. Track navigation is a dream too and so the VC display set to sat-nav, you get the best of both worlds :)

That's interesting, I've just tried to do the same through VCDS, and got "No response from controller" on Module 46.
Looks like I might have to invest in OBDeleven - that might help me get into Module 53 as well (auto set handbrake on when shifting into P).
Thank you!

Thanks for pointing this out. I wonder if this is because the audio will go over the USB and thus have a higher bit-rate than if it was going over bluetooth. I'm not really an audiophile but will compare when I get my motor ;)

Hint & Tip: You can cancel either a SatNav announcement or a Traffic Programme announcement by pressing the volume roller on the right hand side of the steering wheel. Again - I am sure that this is in the manual, but thought I'd share.

Spotify + SATNAV in VC. It's my standard The B&O needs time to break in.

So finally picked mine up today, been out and about with it since this morning. Few oddities so far...

1) The Sat Nav reads road numbers as totals e.g. "A Four Two One" becomes "A Four Hundred and Twenty One", I assume this can't be changed?
2) The Audi SIM occasionally loses signal but rather than just quietly wait to reconnect I get a full screen pop up telling me something I can't do anything about!

There is road nearby, which when I drive down, the camera-based sign recognition for some reasons decides there is a speed limit sign indicating that the speed limit is 100mph. As I generally use the adaptive cruise feature to automatically adjust to the speed limit, this is quite an interesting road to drive down!

Not exactly. Mostly I just pulled my surprised face when the car began to accelerate without my input, but I had a larger surprise when I saw a 100mph speed limit sign on the dash! Must figure out what is triggering it and report it to someone. Clearly it's a bit of a bug, since there are no legal 100mph roads in the UK, so even if it thinks it sees that particular sign, it should ignore it. Who to report it to?

Excellent! Time to get some 150mph road signs made and put up - this would be most entertaining to watch!

Every other time there abouts, the steering wheel lock won't apply and I have to pick unlock, apply and lock the car again. Odd.

Not that I've noticed, you may have an issue with the mechanism or the servo that operates it..

Well something ain't right. It does work. But not first time every time. I'll take it in. Just wondering if there was something I wasn't doing beforehand.
