Morning All,

Recently face lifted a few bits of the interior in my S3..

Stuck the facelift climate control unit in, looks to work being a 57 plate... aircon button registering in vag com etc

Have got a new dash panel/ buttons above the climate control, but how to wire it in? -
S l1600

Has connections as follows -

S l1600 1

Hazard button has the same connector .. so all good. However ESP is combined with Passenger Airbag off light..

Now originally mine didn't have a button for Passenger Airbag, however I've found a wire with a blue connector flapping around in the dash, which looks to be said airbag wire.

For ref how mine used to look - (not my pic)

79261664

So far I've just disconnected the plastic lock from the wire to leave the pin block, and put that on in various combinations to the point where ESP will light up. However on startup it will auto turn ESP off then on again. However the button doesn't actually seem to register a press!?

Any info or help out there on this one?

Cheers,
Adam.

The red plug wiring goes like this

Pin 1 - brown wire
Pin 3 - blue or blue/grey
Pin 5 - black or black/purple
Pin 7 - yellow/purple
Pin 8 - green/red

BTW FL climate panel won't work properly in a prefacelift car, compressor wont kick in.

It does on some late pre facelift models

Thanks for the pin out, is that for the ESP to work properly ?

Well, that's the thing, it acted the same way as my other unit... well vcds logging anyway. Albeit compressor dint kick in for either

Is there a test you know of that can show it categorically? ... AC button was changing status in vcds, well shutoff state etc

Ill post it later on tonight

thanks for the link, don't think its any of them though :(

From etka i can only see two 10 pin blocks that look like they could be the one... 8E0971980 & 1K0972643

Hi all! I'm in the facelift projet right now too, so thanks so much @Oswald for your help. Just one more question. I will buy the new pin block [6R0972930A]
from here; https://www.automotive-connectors.c...housing-neutral-version.html?___store=english (it's the proper one, right?)
Unfortunately it doesn't come with the terminals, so I have to buy it separately. My question is; how many of them do i need and for what wire size? this one for 0.2-0.35 mm2 https://www.automotive-connectors.c...socket-terminal-0-2-0-5-mm2-loose-pieces.html or this one for 0.5-0.75 mm2 https://www.automotive-connectors.c...l-with-spring-0-50-0-75-mm2-loose-pieces.html ?
Thanks in advance!!!

Pin 8 - green/red is on the blue connector which is for airbag button, separately, not on the ESP one. Although I didn't have the airbag button on the prefacelift trim, the connector was just flapping around. Am I going to have any problem connecting that too or the airbag 'button' will function properly?

Thanks for your time, sorry for the repost.
