for the money i'd pay for a loaded new RS3 Sportback I'm contemplating a slightly used 997 Gen 2 Porsche instead
Thoughts?
Unfortunately TX has been Banned
Yeah genuine proud RS3 8V owner kicked off a site dedicated to the RS3 8V. Good one TDI dreamer RVP, jealousy got what you wanted I guess?'Tearsofjoy' TX lol

I do hope that what I have read is not true. If so that is an absolute travesty. How can an ACTUAL owner be booted by banter with a non owner?? Moderators please explain?Yeah genuine proud RS3 8V owner kicked off a site dedicated to the RS3 8V. Good one TDI dreamer RVP, jealousy got what you wanted I guess?

Off topic, has anyone has the gtechniq csl treatment done on their motors? I have the xpel ultimate paint protection put on bonnet, silks, front end etc, superb stuff but thinking of having the gtecniq on the rest of the motor?.Apparently it was only a five day ban I am told. .
After being a bit miffed about it he hasn't bothered posting, plus he has the certain person on 'ignore' too!
So the gloating of a certain person is short lived

I thought that you had already put down a holding deposit with your dealer like you said last year?A site dedicated to FL as the forum header suggests.
TDI dreamer ok thanks(love you too).
TX was jealous of the FL and I was simply excited for any news (along with other people on here) but it seems that is not allowed on this forum (maybe I should have joined the 'hate any FL news' forum).
People who 'say' they own one would rather tell future owners (dreamers I believe) that the FL will never happen.
It's strange how TX got banned but I'm still here?!
Oh well I've got to get back to my TDI which I'm thinking of upgrading to a mini by the way.
Computer controlled should know this he couldn't stop talking to me on the phone last night when I was telling him all my plans this year.
I was also told to stop daydreaming therefore I'm going to go full steam ahead and buy this mini and forget this RS3(it's never going to happen, it's never going to happen).
Well I will leave you guys to talk about the old one. Have fun.
Love you TX

In response to Radman's question, if a member is acting like a complete tool it shouldn't matter if he or she is an actual or potential owner if/when considering a ban.
Imaginary deposit...I thought that you had already put down a holding deposit with your dealer like you said last year?
So am I right in thinking RVP has created havok & is now clearing off & buying a Mini !!!???
Please tell me that is wrong ***
SP don't lower and belittle yourself to the standard of the knuckle dragging owners, you are better than that.
Maybe. But my understanding was that it's £1200 upfront, with an additional £310 per year "premium car tax" for five years. That, along with the expected price increase could mean it's out of their price range. These things are always at the margin, of course. The tax discussion / argument is a nonsense.
If you can't afford £500 a year in tax without a worry, you shouldn't be buying a car like this.
I just hope it's not the case.
I'm not sure if RVP is kidding or not.
Either way, time to get the FL discussion back on track & ditch the flannel talk.
Crossed my mind wonder if they will offer the FL as a black edition now too ?
Or Alu edition ?
& will the saloon be mag ride only as the S3.
But that is because saloon S3 has 19" rims whereas RS3 sportback has 19" rims as standard so perhaps not.
Will the LOUD exhaust only be part of the 'dynamic pack' again ?
Never understood why you had to have mag ride to get the loud exhaust
The new tax rules are nagging at me though ... my road tax on my pre-FL feels great value now & a hike to £500 notes per year grates I must confess plus the initial post £40k tax is a bitter pill to swallow too. One of those things though now if you want the car !
It's a nonsense in your opinion. For others it may be different!
What is included will vary by country. In NZ the sports exhaust, mag ride etc are all standard equipment -- on the saloon anyway. SB FL pricing due to be released soon but I see no reason why it will be any different to the saloon here in NZ.I doubt they'll be a black edition. The black styling pack suffices. They'll definitely be charging for the sports exhaust again...this is Audi we're talking about, Snake!
I'm of the opinion that the new VED rules (especially that initial charge) and anticipated price hike for the the FL will mean that used prices on the pre-FL will hold up fairly well. I am biased though!
OMG Craig. For once I agree with you. I feel like we are turning a corner here. Progress. The tax discussion / argument is a nonsense.

Imaginary RS3 purchaseLol of course I'm kidding (RS3 all the way) but don't tell the 'owners' as they say I'm never going to own one as it's too much of an upgrade apparently.
So to please them I'm getting a mini or Adam more suited to me as a TDI owner.
Anyway I'm sad to leave here but it's a shame how these 'owners' like to put us FL brigade down and I can't be bothered with it I'd rather talk to people about the new car hence the title of this forum 'FL'
The new car is a fine example of all the minor things the car needed improvement on. Especially the heavy front end where everyone who test drives it says it's too heavy so extra power and lighter engine = improved Audi.
Well now I know the news is official (it took time to come but we finally got there) I'm going to enjoy the wait and the test reviews and patiently wait for my RS3 saloon....I mean mini.
To all the new owners have a great time when you get the car and I wish you well.
To all the existing 'owners'.....get out and drive it instead of sitting on here and being jealous.
Love you TX

What do you think people post on a forum other than opinion?
Should I end every single post with "in my opinion" just so it's clear for you?
If you can't comfortably afford £500 a year tax, then you shouldn't buy a car that costs £45-50k and that runs at mid-20 mpg. FACT!
I agree. I'm sure it will make people consider a used pre FL. especially when a new platform is due around 2018. Although the RS will prob be a couple of years after that, explain the sense in spending what will be a lot of money for a car that in the very near future will have changed shape?I doubt they'll be a black edition. The black styling pack suffices. They'll definitely be charging for the sports exhaust again...this is Audi we're talking about, Snake!

Fact?!!! Batter on. Megane owners must know everything.
Come on then moderator say something that adds value to the conversation instead of your usual inane nothingness.
What are your thoughts on tax cost being a decisive factor in evaluating buying a £45 - 50k car that runs at mid 20mpg and is in the higher insurance groups?

Small price hikes affect people at the margin, Craig. A bit like a 0.25% rise in the base rate. Cars like the RS3 are emotive purchases where quite a few people will push themselves to their absolute financial limits to get into one. The new tax rules IN ADDITION to the anticipated price increases could mean not as many FL RS3's are shifted as previous. It might only be an extra £xxx, but at some point it starts to bite.Come on then moderator say something that adds value to the conversation instead of your usual inane nothingness.

Petty jealously mate. Like a few on here. The RS3 is a beautifully made car and I don't believe Craig doesn't want one, I think he would love one. Why else spend so much time on here, sniping about this and that and puffing his chest out... it's pointless.Ring ding dong..END
Why do you keep coming in here when all you do is slag the rs3s off and you don't even want one. Do one to meg owners.
The tax discussion / argument is a nonsense.

You lost the discussion when you went from opinion, to FACT, to a feeble attempt at slagging me off.
It's the principle of fleecing us that annoys me.
& we lose enough £'sss as it is on cars.
Get rid of this guy Scotty, ban him please. He's got nothing positive to say about the RS3 and just hangs around on here, insulting people.I lost the discussion????? The "FACT" was a tongue in cheek comment after you amazingly deducing that something I wrote on a forum was my opinion.
I don't think you have sufficient intelligence to engage, so I'll leave you to support the knuckle draggers around here.
