I have a 2.7L Turbo V6 and the oil temp gage on the lower left side of the instrument cluster is running hot almost to the red zone. this just started. Normally the gage was at the mid point level. I checked the oil level and it looks to be full. The engine temp gage is running normal. Any suggestions what the problem is or what is causing this?

Can you put it on rosstech to see if it's reading true? I'm not truly familiar with these engines to know if they have an oil cooler. I had a water pump failure which seen the coolant temperature Sta normal but the oil temp rose and oil pressure drops with oil temp rise. This was on a diesel but the principle is the same.
