Hi All,

Can anyone recommend some decent pads? For the Audi S3 345mm setup?

I won't touch EBC stuff. So been looking at:

Brembo HP2000
Ferodo DS2500
Performance Friction

Any others to consider?

Plan to use these with standard Brembo discs.

Standard Pagid pads work well/ Ferodo DS range are for race & track, says so on the box. Not familiar with the others you mention

Have heard the brembo HP2000 pads are good but never tried them when I need to replace mine thats what I was going to get.

I had ebc yellows for two weeks, they clicked like sh1t due to the pad being ever so slightly smaller.

I then went for hp2000, brilliant pad. Hasn't got the initial bite of the yellow, but makes up for it as they dont fade/make no noise as of yet (done 200miles on them)

Ds25000 i was going to go for but read they are not street legal.

Check out mintex pads too, they do street and track pads.

you have mentioned the usual recommendations and most will support those pics but you should really consider carbotech bobcats. Great pad , rotor friendly, really low dust and can be used with their race pad without ever rebedding. Yeah, its aUS company and they take a few weeks to get but they are my favorite pad

Thanks All.

I'm going over to Germany in four weeks and will be pushing the brakes a little harder than normal hence wanting a fast road pad, however the car is used for commuting most days up and down the motorway so don't want anything too extreme or with poor cold bite.

The Ferodo DS2500 pads are an awesome choice. Ive been very pleased with them both on and off the track. Very well performing pads, never had fade or glazing. Also had them on the car on The Ring a few years back, they took a beating and felt great.

With my first brake kit I had Ferodo DS2500 pads initially, and did find the whole thing a great improvement over the stock setup.

A trackday completely fried the DS2500s,as was predicted by our resident brake man,DaveB,and it has to be remembered that the S3 is a pretty heavy car overall, and will demand a lot of the brakes from high speed.

I swapped then to Mintex 1155 pads which were a huge improvement....better bite and less fade.

Now,the AP fronts have AP pads(which we think are Mintex sourced, but not sure),and the Forge rear kit has EBC Yellows, which actually are OK.

Remember to do your research tho guys, if the pad is street legal.

Its stupid the fact a ds2500 pad fitted to a s3 will stop faster then oem pads, but not legal on the street - for that fact alone i went with brembo hp2000s.

There was a case on the vxr forum iirc, about a lad getting done after hitting someone. (Had ds2500 pads)

I run tarox strada pads on mine and they have been great
