The guy who parks next to me has a habit of parking too close so had to go in close to the pillar.

Got the car detailed over the weekend. It was by alpha detailing in the Bromley area. He used the gtechniq laquer. Top guy and well priced I thought . First car I have had detailed and very impressed. Something I'll consider getting done on future cars. Couple of pics I took

How much if you don't mind me asking? Considering a new car detail when I get mine..

P.s. looking great ;)

I'm going to get mine done when it arrives. For me I've had a couple of quotes and both were about £650. That was for a full detail and protection (ceramic sealant) inside and out.

This was £360 (fixed prices are on the alphadetailing site) bit less for smaller cars and bit more for bigger. The seats were protected in the gtechniq leather spray. I'm guessing prices vary across the board with detailing. I'm not an expert either and didn't get any quotes, I was happy with this price when I found it and am happy with the finish .

£360-£650 wow!
I know very little about detailing, thought it was just someone extreme cleaning with a cotton bud in every nook and cranny.
So what do you actually get for that money?
Can you DIY that leather spray stuff as it's only about £7 to buy?

What you have to bear in mind is the time spent on it, I'm having mine done when it arrives. He's quoting 3 days with collection on the 4th, so you've got 3 days labour plus materials (probably minimal cost) plus overheads (electric, water, heating etc)

Just get the air,Its more fun then photoshop :)

I contemplated a good set of coilovers and they were around 2k - When airlift runs the 25% off deals is when you have to purchase the kit,Hands down. Still expensive but it helps quite a bit. I got mine for $3200 with everything you can think of and then some

For me the decision was easy once I got past the huge up front cost. I always set my coilovers very low to achieve the look I want and it makes the car no fun to drive. If I raise it up it looks like garbage and I can't stand looking at it lol. so it's a lose lose no mater what

With the air I go over huge speed bumps,Steep driveways and dips in the road like the car is stock. New York roads are rough so that doesn't help when you are slammed all the time either. That alone was well worth the extra $1200

As a newbie owner I have come to the conclusion that of the Audi colours that are or were available for the S3 my favourites in descending order are Sepang Blue...Ara Blue...Daytona Grey and for no fuss cleaning/upkeep Floret Silver....Glacier White

To be honest l think Ara...is on par with Sepang....but it all depends on the exterior options on the car...adding the pan-roof/Privacy glass and a nice set of alloys....really complements,or even by adding matt Alu roof Rails/Black on the sportback adds some exterior contrast.....Sweet....lol

@jassyo06 I agree the pano-roof does look great on Ara Blue. I am not normally a fan of pano-roofs but I am more than pleased with how it looks on my S3, as it does not look like a wee black glass opening that is common on many vehicles. It would be nice if the actual opening area was larger.

Unfortunately, quite a lot......transmission, engine mounts, quattro drive etc.

Not to worried about,I know a bunch of techs that work at Audi and they are mod friendly
