Well after my first Audi experience a little while ago I swore I would never have another one and that I'd never buy a car from the Sytner group as long as I lived. Well a little over 7 months without an S3 and I've decided that's long enough. :)

I went to the local dealer on Saturday and was told that they weren't interested in trying to match Carwow figures and I should approach them instead. I explained that this happened the last time I came to see them and I simply went to the next dealer who were Sytner Leeds and they discounted the car there and then. The young chap I was dealing with promptly disappeared to speak to his manager yet again. He came out explaining I'd need to speak to the business manager but he was tied up. I left and told them to call me if they wanted to sell a car. 5 Minutes later I was called and asked to come back for them to try and do something as they didn't want to lose me a second time. I went back a few hours later with the spec I wanted and all my figures to hand. We sat there with the usual 'this is a waste of our time' face, happy in the knowledge that they wouldn't do a deal and we'd be leaving in a huff in just a few minutes. The young lad came back again with a price that was £3 a month more than I figured (which was £200 less than I thought I could actually get it for). After we picked our jaws up from the floor realisation hit us as we had already said that if they could get a decent deal there was nothing stopping us from buying one....! So new S3 is on order.

It was going to be a basic S-tronic S3 sportback in Ibis white, but the toys got the better of me and the wife was saying just get it or you'll be whinging later. So the spec changed to Daytona grey and the virtual cockpit. No idea on a build date, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest as I'm in no rush.

I sat looking at pictures in the fl thread and I'm now toying with the idea of going back to Ibis white and having the Bang & Olufsen sound upgrade instead....! I'm starting to think white really suits the new shape changes. :)

So in short, I'm back to farts and pops, 20mpg, ridiculous servicing and repair costs, extreme depreciation, high risk of theft or vandalism and not having a decent nights sleep due to bills and thieves. Can't wait. :)

From the other thread you might be waitIng until the end of the year mate, people ordered the 3dr in Jan have been told October delivery. Hopefully not!

That seems to be for the 3dr hatch, so I should be okay as I've ordered a 5dr. To be honest it wouldn't bother me at the moment as there's nothing wrong with the car I'm in it's just boring. So waiting longer would help pay off some of the debt and I wouldn't be fussed as I know an S3 is on it's way at some point. The stealer did say it would probably be May time, unless they can change an order they have already.

I should've bought a 5dr the first time round, it's just it was a lot cheaper for a 3dr at the time. This is one of the very rare occasions where I think a 5dr actually looks better.

Ibis White looks stunning on the new A3. Can't wait till mine comes :) Have also heard amazing things about the B&O system!

I see you might be a little biased towards certain colours.

I do agree though some of the pictures of the A3 in white do look really good. Just a shame I couldn't see an s3 in white at the dealers as it's always better to see them in the flesh.

Maybe a little biased haha! :tearsofjoy:

I've seen a lot of white S3s in my area and they look great. Really stand out in the day and night but I must admit the sportback wears it better :grimacing:

Agreed about the 5dr looking better than the 3dr. And what makes the 5dr look even better still is roof rails!!

Good to see you got a deal sorted out eventually. Sounds like your heart wants a white S3, but DG is a stunning colour as well. Had our DG A3 saloon for two years now, and it looks great when cleaned up......the flake in the paint is special!

Thanks everyone it's good to be back.

The good side of having to wait is I'll hopefully have paid more off what I owe so financially I'll be a bit better off. The downside to waiting is the options list keeps calling my name. :)

The wife likes the grey, as do I, but I think I'd get more use out of the B&O upgrade. I'd have both but I'm really over my budget so have to limit to one or the other.

I agree with you about White looking good. But never Ibis. Ever.

Glacier all the way.

Sorry to **** on your parade :D

Nope, no parade drowning. I agree that glacier is nicer, it's just a shame they want so much for it. I've spent the last 3 days looking at white Audis trying to decide if it's glacier or Ibis. Once you realise it's glacier then you can see it's nicer, but for £550 I shouldn't have to wait for a bit of sun to hit it to work it out. At least the free one isn't Amalfi anymore...!

I really can't stretch to both a metallic and B&O, so it has to be one or the other. I think I'd rather have the B&O as I've always wanted it and I can't see the colour from the inside anyway...! :)

So unless someone comes along to tell me Ibis is soft as hell and will swirl and chip easy, then I might be in touch with the dealer for a game of switcheroo.

What % discount are you getting from them?

I've never heard the ***, but by all accounts it's pretty poor. I enjoy the B&O in mine, but wouldn't go as far as to say it's anything that amazing. It does have a lot of oomph to it with 1200W, but having driven a 50K CLS recently, I'll say that Merc have it nailed on the audio front. Just a shame their interior suits blind people.

I've not actually worked out the % to be honest. It's around or just over 10% I think. I was fairly happy with the deal, but knew I could maybe get it cheaper with a lot more hassle going somewhere else.

I had the *** in the first S3 I had and it was okay, so I'm hoping for something a bit better. I used to mess around and fit proper gear in the cars I had when I was younger, but I really can't be bothered with all that anymore. :)
