Well after my first Audi experience a little while ago I swore I would never have another one and that I'd never buy a car from the Sytner group as long as I lived. Well a little over 7 months without an S3 and I've decided that's long enough.
I went to the local dealer on Saturday and was told that they weren't interested in trying to match Carwow figures and I should approach them instead. I explained that this happened the last time I came to see them and I simply went to the next dealer who were Sytner Leeds and they discounted the car there and then. The young chap I was dealing with promptly disappeared to speak to his manager yet again. He came out explaining I'd need to speak to the business manager but he was tied up. I left and told them to call me if they wanted to sell a car. 5 Minutes later I was called and asked to come back for them to try and do something as they didn't want to lose me a second time. I went back a few hours later with the spec I wanted and all my figures to hand. We sat there with the usual 'this is a waste of our time' face, happy in the knowledge that they wouldn't do a deal and we'd be leaving in a huff in just a few minutes. The young lad came back again with a price that was £3 a month more than I figured (which was £200 less than I thought I could actually get it for). After we picked our jaws up from the floor realisation hit us as we had already said that if they could get a decent deal there was nothing stopping us from buying one....! So new S3 is on order.
It was going to be a basic S-tronic S3 sportback in Ibis white, but the toys got the better of me and the wife was saying just get it or you'll be whinging later. So the spec changed to Daytona grey and the virtual cockpit. No idea on a build date, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest as I'm in no rush.
I sat looking at pictures in the fl thread and I'm now toying with the idea of going back to Ibis white and having the Bang & Olufsen sound upgrade instead....! I'm starting to think white really suits the new shape changes.
So in short, I'm back to farts and pops, 20mpg, ridiculous servicing and repair costs, extreme depreciation, high risk of theft or vandalism and not having a decent nights sleep due to bills and thieves. Can't wait.
