Hi all

I would like to install a basic colour camera for reversing at the rear of my b7 and have been looking at kits with screens,

i was wondering if it was possible to use the screen on the RNSE sat nav unit to display the input from a camera?, are there any phono inputs etc on the back?

It has a tv button but not sure if this is possible, any thoughts would be appreciated

Dan

It can be done
You need a part from eBay that allows video in about 90 quid ish
Very easy to fit

Yes as above, media adapter for video input.

Cheers guys, I have searched for it but just get lots of iPod cables, or video in motion which just means it works when moving!
I can't find anything that enables an input or unlocks the feature on the head unit, at the moment if I press cd/tv I just get CD player, so I guess even if something was plugged in I still couldn't see it without some sort of recoding?

If anybody has done it could you let me know exactly which bit you used?

Thanks again

Dan

Sorry to bring this thread from the dead ...
If this socket is already in use on the RNSE (I have AMI and OEM Bluetooth) is it still possible to use this interface without losing existing features ?

With the mk2 rns-e video input is more limited - lots of tales of frustration trying (and failing) to get Reverse camera feeds working. Older RNS-e was fine.

I think there are two revisions of the PCb in the the MK2 Rns-e the later one making it impossible - but I haven't looked into it for a while.

I love my MK2 RNS-E with AMI though - so just making do with reverse beepers...

Wouldn't change back to a MK1 with just SD cards again for anything :)

You'd have to inquire. There's two issues with MK2 RNS-E - video input and auto switching when reversing. If they've cracked it then that would be marvellous :)
