What have you done today?

Couldnt find a grey W8 one (at a decent price, some really ridiculous prices on ebay) so i managed to get a beige one for $33 usd, a compromise i have to make unfortunately.

Swap the buttons over and spray the beige one grey?

i dont own a grey W8 switch my car is currently fitted with the stock grey pre facelift 8L interior light switch with a broken center switch, so its permanently on door open, i would have preferred the w8 light in grey as i would have replaced a grey unit with another grey one but unfortunately i couldnt find the w8 in grey, i just posted the pic of the 2 w8 light units to show the colour difference

Yes its a fairly popular mod so people have just decided to start asking ridiculous prices for it (kind of like what they're also doing with the 8l double din cages), its all about supply and demand i guess. Considering the price that i've paid for mine im pretty sure i'll be able to live with the colour compromise.

Fitted a German-style rear plate and managed a wash before the rain came.

Front plate to be changed when I can be bothered to take the bumper off to sort the bolts out.

Also booked in with a friend to change the clutch and DMF in late March. Anyone with recommendations on where to buy the Clutch and DMF please drop me a message.

Will a facelift one fit?

Will a facelift one fit?

yes, i have considered it but then i would have to modify the headliner (cut into that hump section) since the facelift roof light is much bigger, the w8 light is a direct fit however and i just have to modify the interior light loom connector to make it work

Drove to work and back and did not use the 'tuppy' lights , considered a shopping trip after dark just to turn them on, on the promenaded :)

Spotted this yesterday, great idea bad execution.

that appears to be a 9n3 polo bumper section grafted onto the 8l bumper which would have probably looked fine but then an attempt was made at a psuedo single grill look and it doesnt look all there in my opinion.

I finally have brake lights again in my S3! Drove it for the first time today in a while! :D

How did you fix them mate?

I'm just using mine as ambient lighting in my garage at present!

these finally came (resistors for the led indicator bulbs for the rear) and the sline cap

Resistors

still trying to figure out how to fix the economy issue on the dis (its either the maf or the 02 sensor that is responsible for that, when i unplug the maf it shows everything as it should but, the maf is fine according to vcds no errors being thrown up.)

Economy

With all the rubbish weather both the A2 and the S3 are looking a sorry state... knowing it was fairly pointless doing a detail on them at the moment (especially the A2) I decided to detail my AE-1 instead :)

Pity its not a 3 door... or better a saloon lol.. ;)

<tuffty/>

Saloon yes! But I think I prefer the 5 door in the 8v, hers is the 310 s-tronic black edition and it really is quite a car!
But then anybody could go a out and buy a brand new S3 but it takes a 'special' kind of person to plough money in to a 15 year old S3...

Saloon all day long for me.. I couldn't have a sportback if I was given one... I'd just sell it and put the money towards a saloon... or a 3 door... or an Aston :)

Not quite as exciting but I have new genuine discs and pads all round :) Had to get a mechanic to fit a new rear calliper as it was beginning to bind on one side and then my car failed it's MOT in style on the "rear coil spring insulators" - I didn't know they were an MOT failure, but anyway, got some new ones put on. Another year of B-road blasting on the cards! Roll on summer!

havent been up to much these past few weeks apart from working on the centre console but it still needs alot of work and its time consuming for such as small thing.

Ddin progress

the bevel needs some more work and the panel still requires a fair amount of smoothing before i will be fully satisfied, then i will tackle the top section for the bigger pfl buttons and hazard switch

Goddamn S3, my one is cursed! Lol

So I've been S3'ing for the last 2 weeks, but yesterday, the alternator decided to die on me, but I managed to make the 1.5miles left of my journey with all electrics switched off! I replaced this part last year aswell, so proper annoyed.

Driving my mk2 Golf 16v instead. 28 years old this year, still on its original alternator!

i start working on r32 exhaust and how to fit it on audi rear bumper

i bought another bumper and put him in primer ...

... i also bought extension of the rear bumper of golf mk5 r32 ...

... now i need to put this two things together and it should look something like this ...

getting a weird sound when i turn at slow speeds, suspect it might be the steering rack, I hope its not, and i dont see any leaks there, if it is i'll probably fit a quick rack, but i'll buy some power steering fluid from the dealer first just to make sure

Suffering from withdrawal symptoms with my S3 still in 'hospital' I decided to give my mower a spring service, ready to bomb round the lawn...

DSC 0387

Currently running standard, except for adjustable suspension, but may go stage 1 and add B5 TIP + S2000 filter and port it ...goes well at present as I use the V-Power/Tesco 99 in it

Scanned it and no fault codes so it's good to go!

Jesus Christ TCG - you need to get to a hospital quick son.

Incidentally, is the mower 2 stroke or 4 stroke?

No mate,it's old skool 2 stroke, mix the oil with the petrol, takes me back to my moped days :sentimental:

Spent £96 on bolts, nuts and washers (from Audi obviously) and pick up my new reconditioned steering rack...
OEM finished aswell....
