Hi Guys

I'm refitting the 4x4 on the race car and have noticed that the downpipe is almost touching the front prop-shaft doughnut where it passes it.

Engine is CDLA 2.0 TFSi
Chassis is 8p
Downpipe is Milltech 3 inch

So I was wondering if anyone knew what the clearance is meant to be there as it looks very close to me.

Also does anyone know where I can buy a second hand 8P propshaft from? This is the one with the wider centre bearing mounts.

Cheers
Mark.

The answer is very close....!

This might help....

That second picture Alex. Where the pipe passes the Doughnut. On Mine I need to measure it but I bet its only 5 to 10mm clearance there on its closest point. Is that about right?

I did think about putting a ten mm stainless flange on the turbo with longer studs to move the whole pipe over by ten mm as I have plenty of space to the bulkhead.

It is very close...I'd say about 5-10mm would be about right.
You probably do have room to move the turbo a bit...on mine that 3582 is so large its close to just about everything, and Storm are having it ceramic coated so we can lose the heat jacket and gain a bit of room.

You would think the heat from the pipe would fry the dough in the nut eh!

Just looked at your top pic Alex. You got a bolt loose on your transfer box?

Thanks and well spotted!

The pic was taken in the middle of trying to jam that lot into a space it wasn't designed for so pretty much everything in there had been unbolted.

It's now all been taken to bits again... new transfer box,DSG,prop shafts and more....

I bet that bolt was taken out to get the JIC onto the turbo drain eh :)

Tight space is the word for that Alex..
