That's gonna cost me £486+Vat (without the labour charges)!!! :(

get to a breakers i can recommend a couple it would be alot cheaper as long as you can fit it or find sombody to

If you mean the main engine ECU, you can get £85 back from Audi as it's an exchange unit. Don't forget, the new ECU will also need to have the immobilser coded to your keys, another 1 hour labour charge. Been there - done it and got a right royal bill to prove it.......

Good luck, persoanlly I wouldn't go for a breakers ECU as it needs to be the correct part number for your car, I bought an ECU off ebay that was touted as from an S3 and it turned out it was from a TT that was a year younger than mine - b@@gered...........

As I said - Good Luck )

I didn't take it to the main stealers - luckily this garage I took it to is capable of doing what stealers can! they deal with lots of VW/BMW/Porsches etc.. tfft!

Yeh - it was the ECU that was changed, the air hose and mass sensor!!! All parts from the stealers, so price was paid for genuine parts.. and I got the immobilser coded.

I am so grateful! and its probably cost half the price! Car is running well now.. Woo hoo!!!

my ECU also died - rain damage that came in from the rain channel above the ECU
stupid place to put ECU on the A3 really
cost me nearly 800 as the car had to be toed to Audi for the immobilser to be recoded

I know.. poxy little ECU!

small things = big problems!

It wasn't even the ECU them god-damn penny pinching bar stewards! - after the garage changed the: lambda probe, throttle body, ECU, and a few other things.. the problem was still there! :sob:

Eventually... my knight in shining armour :wub:comes along plugs the laptop in the car and finds out it was the coolant temp sensor!!! which cost £14!!!!!!! :faint:

Well its all sunshine and roses now :yahoo:

thats why you always get the magic software plugged into the audi before going to a garage and going on what they say cos 99% of the time there wrong lol. same with the AA and RAC. useless.

unfortunately I did! cos the garage used that so called vag contraption thingie which they plugged in the car.. found the faults and I actually believed they were right.. and being so naive thinking that garage people know what they're doing and would never take advantage of a young lady.. how wrong was I!!!....I did argue about the ECU cos that was a most expensive but they wouldn't take it back cos it was coded to the car. :crying:

Lesson learnt! stick with boyf! :icon_thumright:
