Remote locking problems

Morning guys, probably been done to death, but my central locking remote is not working ( 2003 a3 1.9tdi quattro sport). The central locking and alarm all work fine, with the key in the lock/ignition, just no remote function. Tried reprogramming the one key I have and no joy. Any help would be most appreciated.

Probably need to re-sync the key to the car... the procedure will be in the owners manual as this generally has to be done if you replace the fob battery

Hi tufty, thanks for the reply, I have tried this several times to no avail. No ccm, checked the vac pump and *** modules in the boot and all seem fine.
