Just bought my first Audi in the form of a B8 S4, and so far I'm loving it! Going to TRY and keep it as standard as possible for the time being then maybe look into a few mods..

Here's a couple of pics.

It is the S-Tronic, all black SS seats and also the B&O sound system which is unreal, loving the power so far so as you can imagine I've had a few trips to the petrol station since Thursday when I picked it up!

Get an intake on it. Makes a big difference

Are there any in particular that would be recommended?

Adam, welcome to Audi-sport.net. Nice car. You making me laugh already. You not going to mod and then you talk about intake, lol. You will fit in well in here. Enjoy. :)

Adam I have a revo one, but I hear the CTS ones are great.

Welcome to ASN :)

Not tempted to acquire another 120 HP + then :)

@adamk90 - you've stumbled into the lions den if you were hoping to "keep it standard as possible for the time being" - the mod pushers on here will have you hooked sooner than you care to think about ;)

Nice choice of car , Enjoy, I'm sure you will !!

@adamk90, @gary_a4_quattro is of course quite right that you'll be subject to intense peer pressure to mod. Ultimately, you'll decide, because it's your car. But don't feel that you'll stand alone and isolated if you don't mod. You'll at least have me for company. :)

(for now....)

@adamk90 - Hi & :welcome!: to Audi-Sport.Net Adam !

Great looking :s4addict: buddy

Congratulations. Is it a manual or s-tronic?

Nah who am I trying to kid, I will definitely play with it but not to the extent I have done to previous cars.

What do you all suggest to squeeze some extra power out and what are the gains/costs associated with them?

And cheers for the replies!

Easiest way to squeeze out extra power is add an intake then get a remap with a pully swap. Depending on who you go to for mapping you can be up to 480-490bhp

Costs a bit extra on a s-tronic car due to having to map the gear box as well, can get it all done for somewhere between £1200-2000 depending on brand of intake and remap.

Sounds like a plan, maybe enjoy it a bit how it is then start adding!

What about exhaust, are the gains worth it or is it more just for the acoustics?

I don't think there's much to gain from just changing the exhaust. It does sound a lot nicer with an aftermarket xorst though. If you check down through the threads a few people have had some awesome sounding custom systems made recently. All depends on budget and how much drone you can put up with (Scorpion is drone free but lacks volume compared to other exhausts, custom would be loudest but also suffer from the most drone)

Mod pusher here :tearsofjoy:

Hi mate welcome

Cts intake is good if your after more supercharger whine ( i have one fitted )

Custom system is deff the way to go if your after a better soundtrack IMO but it will suffer from a lot of drone between 2-3k revs which is motorway speeds with the s-tronic box ( i have one fitted )

lowering makes a big difference to the looks to, i find the s4 a bit high looking as it is ( i have that fitted too )

i'll stop there for now but you get the picture :grinning:

You've got a cracking car there whatever you decide mate you wont be disapointed

Check out BCS for back box replacement. More noise when accelerating but no drone ;-)

LOL - Dippy being a bit dippy? ;)
OP mentions it's s-tronic in the first post :D

Nice looking car, btw!

Yeah - OK.

I just wanted to make sure the OP is aware of the importance of DL501 oil changes...

I'm with chop , I have just had a custom exhaust made for my s4 ( x pipe with just 2 back boxs ) I agree there is a drone at motorway cruising speed , but when giving it beans it sounds ace
I will try to get some drive by video and post it up
