Hello people, i have just joined the audi club :) Audi a3 tfsi 1.8 2009 in a really nice light blue, its a freaking hoot to drive and so much better than my old mk4 1.6 16v golf.

but......... theres always a but....

There is no bass at all in this car, like nothing my mobile pumps out more on loud speaker.

I have checked the connections on the Concert system thats in it, there all peachy from what i can see,
i have whipped the grills off the door speakers and they are working they are making noise just a pathetic chirp, Farted about with all the setting on the head unit, no difference.

What i do know is the previous owner had a sub in it and there is a lead running from fuse box to the boot, where the sub was.

I cannot see any spliced wires in the loom behind the head unit.

I have picked up a new Headunit anyhoo, but untill i get that fitted i have a week of comuting with the tiny fart that is the system, any idea's?

What i know,

2009 1.8 tfsi 5 door
connections appear fine
just the basic concert double din(ish) sized head unit.
front door speakers do make a noise
A post speakers make a noise
the "center" speaker makes a noise

Na I need the boot space, ripped the doors appart, 2 dead rear speakers and 1 dead front....

Wamp wamp

Any one got OEM for cheap?

There's a stock sub behind the left panel in the boot that's probably been disconnected to run an aftermarket sub off the wiring loom. Could inspect it to see if it's been left disconnected?

The rear speakers run off the amp that's inside the stock sub too if you haven't got Bose, could be the reason both rear door speakers are dead

Oh I didn't realise that none Bose had a sub aswell happy days :p I'll rip the panel of tomorrow and check the connections.

Sadly thought I do need 3 speakers.
I switched the two rears for the dead fronts and only one of the two worked and thinking about it the tinney front that's now in the rear is stone dead so yeah probably disconnected @ the sub.

You guys are legends ty for all your help I'll keep you posted :)

Amp is on one side of the boot and sub is on the other, so check the wiring is connected on both. There's no speaker grill for it so don't go looking for one.

cheers i just need some day light and ill check that out :)

update on the 2009 8pa the amp is on the same side of the car as the sub :) sub wasnt working cause the loom was hacked up when the previous owner fitted the after market sub, so i have removed all his, mods and back to factory. rear door speakers are working (well as good as blown speakers can work, sadly though the sub woofer is humped the things coming apart lol, i guess the previous owner liked some loud AF tunes!.

But hay hoe....

dont suppose any one has the speaker from the sub that they could sell me on the cheap >.< don't need the tupper ware houseing just the speaker :)
