Chiptuning Germany

Hi All,

I have discovered this, anybody had any experience with this company? Other forums seem to have no issues with them. The price is incredibly reasonable, with the 2 premium ones offering an engine warranty. I did look into it and I believe it only covers up to €5,000.00 of engine damage.

Thoughts?

No experience myself, but I think BCS deal with this box. Might be worth sending BCS Nige a message.

Cheers

Just to bring this up again,

Covers up to €5000, would that be risk free or would there still be a considerable amount left?

Ben

Looks interesting - is it warranty friendly i.e. if removed will Audi be able to tell via diagnostics?

used racechip before but never had to use the warranty. When i did increase the power in the chip, there was a pending fault code cleared by the garage.

Garage being an Audi dealer?
Did they know whether you had a box on the car or not.

Sorry no, it was the tuning company that removed the box and remapped the car. they are saying that audi can detect if a box has been fitted. Did have a conversation with this guy he says they will detect if you've had a box on.

It can NOT be detected i have a race chip tuning box on my s1 and have always taking it off before the service no fault codes were detect.i had 2 services. If your car is out of warrenty i suggest a custom remap ie revo. My car is out of warrenty in 2 weeks and ive already booked it in for a revo remap.you do get some play in some tuning box s plus its a ballache setting them up .but if your car is under warrenty i would buy a racechip tuning box any day.they are the leading tuning company in germany.remember people these are GERMAN cars !

Interesting well that means audi don't care in that case mine has had 2 services now and they have never said anything about faults .

in my personal opinion as soon as your considering tunning any car, you need to accept the strong possibility of voiding your warranty. I have dropped my car off this morning to go from stage 1-2 and pretty much will have no warranty on the engine but say on the exterior and interior I would imagine that would still have warranty as that hasn't been altered.

I had a issue with a clio 197 when they 1st came out took back to Renault and the mechanic got funny asking where the bigger wheels were and that as he had seen my car about with different wheels on ect. I had put everything back on so was standard for warranty work but because that mechanic had seen me about it had no warranty so from that day I have never bothered with warranty.

I'm not currently tuned (although have a few mods on the car.... :whistle2: )

What I'm liking about RaceChip is that unlike almost every other tuning company out there, they offer a drivetrain warranty. You simply don't get that from any of the big boy tuners.

With a £20k engine I want some peace of mind, not a oh well, sorry it's now TD1 and it's in your own hands to repair at your own cost.

I actually think that with these manufacturer restrictions on ECU tuning increasing, there has to come a point where the tuners start to back up their product with a drivetrain warranty or the business will fall away. :racer:
