hello guys currently got an Audi s3 8p got a milltek cat back but away to fit sports cat this weekend, I'm working towards stage 2+ but I'm wondering if I would need to fit a new hpfp before fitting the downpipe is this true ? And what hpfp should I go for and I'm on a stock map thanks guys

No you should be fine running the car with the current fuel pump and the sports cat.
You may get a lambda fault though which is due to the reduced efficiency of the cat but it's nothing to worry about short term as a 2 or 2+ map will correct that.
The cheapest way to get the uprated hpfp is using the autotech internals. They are fine as long as they are changed in a very clean environment as any contamination will ruin them.
The easiest way is a complete pump swap, either a Loba or an Apr hpfp. It will potentially cost another £200- £300 on top though.
Your call!

The tuner for your stage 2+ should be able to fit an uprated fuel pump. The Loba pump may cost more than the Autotech internals but it is a complete new unit whereas with the Autotech you are relying on the skill of the technician rebuilding your pump. Also your pump may be old and so the internal seals may have seen better days. The Loba pump will be worth more if you decide to sell it in the future compared to the Autotech.

I'd agree for anyone who's either unsure of their own technical abilities,or hasn't got someone they can trust.

The Autotech internals do come with new seals, and can be extremely reliable(mine has done around 70k miles now) but are skill dependent.

The Loba pump represents better value than the APR pump, and is a very good whole pump replacement.

I run a loba hpfp , loba apr and bar-tek all do good pumps but you pay a premium for the apr pump ,
If you fit the pump before having it mapped in the car will run fine as it will just supply the amount of fuel the Ecu is requesting
