Evening Team Audi,

So as you may have read, last week me and the Mrs popped in to the local Audi, she was not 100% sold on getting the A2, but put a holding deposit down of £1000, £700 of which would be returned on purchase of the car. I specifically asked the sales man when this deposit would become non-refundable are when is the point of no return.

He said once the car is in the UK and on Audi Plymouths books it will be ours / Audi Plymouths. Yesterday the mrs decided not to go ahead with it, sales man said ok (eventually) and said he would have to talk to someone else to process the re-fund. That person rang today to say that he could offer some more stuff, or get her in to a Q3 etc. anyway she decided and now that sales man has to talk to someone else as the car is "tagged" to my wife.

Sounds a bit iffy to me, one sales man saying one thing and the next saying something else.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers team!

Did you sign an order form? Do you have any form of written contract? If so, what does it say?

The wife did sign a vehicle order form, the rear says the contract can be cancelled up to 14 days from receiving the goods.

if that definition is us taking ownership of the vehicle
if that is the vehicle landing in the Uk and being received by the dealer we are still with in the 14 days.

The most annoying thing is that it appears that the salesman either does not know the conditions, has lied to us or is stalling to refund the cash.

Hopefully I'm wrong and its just inexperience on there part. we will find out on monday.

Did you mean the Q2?? TBH I think she's done the right thing. Not sold on it at all. Not a Q3 fan either but...............given it's on its way out and a new Q3 is in the horizon you may get a damn good deal?? I prefer the Q3 over the Q2, by a long shot.

Yes mate the Q2, today the "Business Manager" said he can not deal with the refund (despite being told that he could previously) but he could offer money off the Q2, or get her in to a Q3, better spec for less money???? WTF?

Anyway the experience has sent the mrs back to BMW and they as ever did her good deal, took some money off, and have taken her car in to PX, all with free tea and coffee and loads of clear paperwork, clear exit terms and a deposit of £300 that is refundable even when the car is ready to be handed over at the last minute!!!!

Audi take note!

She got a 2017 F20 118d, which has the B47 (new N47 2.0 diesel) a spec up (sport) and a load of extras, then they gave her £1990 off the final price and took her existing 118d SE in PX 2 months early. Sounds really good.

But they had a brand new M5, registered and 18 miles on it £30k off down to £59,999. and you can drop £300 deposit and £279 p/m and walk out with either a 118i SE or a 140I Sport. They need to shift them and before March.

A slightly better experience than Audi. Unfortunately.

Coast to coast suggest you can get £3500 discount off a new 118d...that's without any options.

Well after talking to the original bloke, she has had her deposit returned!!!!!!

I would write to the garage owner and tell them why your wife left and you are not at all happy and you were considering changing your car and they have potentially lost two sales .
It wont do any good but may **** them off .

It's the women that are the problem, there always changing their ****** mind.
