Hey all, had a custom exhaust done for me by Pipeworks in Fife, Scotland. Very long drive for me (midlands) but incredibly worth it, I'm so happy with it. These guys were recommended by Chop and I thoroughly recommend them as well, their attention to detail is exceptional for such a small operation.

It sounds very similar to the armytrix system.

I had the downpipes altered to have the silencers removed then a 2.25 system with a x-pipe welded in and small silencers at the rear. I had smaller silencers than chop, I had the next one down as I fancied it that little bit louder, and I don't regret it. Hearing that V6 rumble at low revs is incredible.

Yes there's a drone at certain speeds but with the manual I just alter my speed slightly, it's very loud and I love it haha.

Out of idle curiosity, I typed in "Pipeworks exhausts Fife" into Google - and didn't get what I expected, blinking interwebnet thing!

I drive to work once a week but I leave at 6am, must be a nice alarm clock

See when I had my super loud Type R it I used to take it easy but it was still loud, my neighbour said she used it as an alarm when I went to work haha she didn't mind it at all. I live on a culdesac of 4 houses, 1 has just been sold and the guy opposite likes his cars so he never said anything but the guy that's just moved in to the house thats sold is a copper so I don't know where I stand with him yet haha

Haha I'm sure he'll soon let you know if he doesn't approve

I moved into a new house and mine was first on the street to be built so we literally were the first here while the others were being finished, I like to see it as my street :)

Hopefully he doesn't mind, I'm sure we'll soon find out haha. I wouldn't change it anyway, it's the kind of sound you expect from a 3.0 supercharged V6 anyway so I think it's more acceptable than my old civic

Used to have a TVR sales guy living opposite us in our last house/cul'd sac - as we were never up early on a Saturday, him getting up and warming the car up in winter certainly wakened us up!

Certainly did not annoy me! Never thought about buying one though, would need to buy a trailer for wife's car to follow me and pick up the bits that fell off - oh sorry about that!
Never really understand the bad rep they had - I owned one for 9 years and it never broke down once and not a single bit ever fell off (or even came loose, come to that)!

I think it was the chassis' that used to crumble away if I remember correctly.

Maybe it was just bitter "I wish I had one" folk that spread that rumour around. Once worked with an older person that ran a Lotus Elan, he claimed that Lotus's were brilliantly made because it was always very easy to remove bolts - we interpreted that to mean that Lotus Elan's needed taking apart every week so no chance for rust to form on the fixings!! (same bitter "I wish that I had one" thing?)
