Facelift Anyone ordered an S3 since December?

I ordered an S3 back on the 5th of December and I still haven't got a build date.

I've had quite a lot of hassle with my dealer not calling me back when chasing this (ie, I leave a message no-one calls me back for days). I eventually escalated to the sales manager and he says that the delivery will be at least June and believes all of them are coming through like that. (I was told March when I ordered it)

Can anyone who has a build date that has ordered it since December let me know because it's not clear to me at the moment whether the dealer are messing up here, or whether it's a general problem.

Just to be clear I did order a black edition but not custom paint and a fairly standard set of extras inc. virtual cockpit (The dealer told me I've not ordered anything unusual)

I ordered on 7th Jan well went in so was probably ordered a few days later and my build date is 10th april and got few extras ask them for ur order number and track online?

I ordered mine on 7/1/17, got my YourAudi code on Thurs 12th showing my build date.

All I did was send an email to my dealer asking if I could get my build code/number so I could start tracking it.

8th May build date but dealer said it would be ready early april? spec in sig

Yes I've got the order number. Wow, August so it does look like the delivery dates are slipping out quite a bit then. I was sure I'd read people on here that had ordered after me and got a build date in April or so.

A lot of people who ordered in Dec are looking around March & April. Some were given dates in May, but a lot of those seemed to have moved forward. You really should have a build week by now, that's quite poor service from your dealer in my opinion. Something's not right, they've either messed up your order and trying to cover themselves or something else isn't as it should be. I'd call Audi customer services and give them your order number to see what's going on. Either that, or go in to the dealer and speak to the Business manager and get some answers. I had a build week within a week, ordered at end of November I think and should arrive with the dealer mid Feb. (It's on a ship now)

Where did you get August from? :shrug:

7th of January mate :)

I ordered mine 6/12/16 and it's just left the factory!! :racer:
 
Thanks for all the responses, I will give Audi customer services a ring and ask them what's going on.

I'm not sure how it's gone wrong but I'm pretty peeved about it.

I originally ordered a facelift diesel in march last year, the dealer told me it would be ready by June! Then called me saying it would be delayed until September and told me they'd give me a free car from June until September to apologise for the inconvenience so your dealer seem a bit

But then I went full ****** and changed my order to the S3 which I got in August so 6 month wait?!

There was options list out when i ordered so i had to pick off the old list what i wanted sooo no Virtual cockpit etc

I'd be doorstepping the dealer Rob.
That's just totally unacceptable.
There's obviously been some cockup on their behalf or they're bullshitting.
Either way needs sorted.

I've spoken to the dealer and talking to the sales manager HR said they've looked at orders across the UK and loads of people are in the same position as me. I've asked him for 2 things. Firstly, the build date. Don't think it's unreasonable to get that after 7 weeks. Secondly, why others are getting there's much earlier than me. Not impressed at all on their pro-activeness. I know it's a car and not a hospital appointment but it's likely to be the 2nd biggest purchase most people make.

I ordered mine (3 door white S3 S-tronic) on the 28th November through a lease company and still not had a build date, should I be worried? It's my first brand new car ordered to spec so no idea of what to expect in terms of lead times.

I'd ask them if you can steal one of the their demo build slots. They must have a car going to production that they can change the spec on the match yours and get through quicker?

You should have a build date by now, or a projected build week anyway. Ask the lease company for the dealer they used for the order, then ring the dealer and ask for the 8 digit order number which you can use the track on 'yourAudi' website.

Yeah I've got the tracking number but isn't showing a build date on the yourAudi site yet

Ah right, got it. It's just a case of waiting then I'm afraid. What stage are you at on the tracker?

I know how you feel mate, the dealership I bought my S3 from have gone rubbish at contacting me! Around October I asked if they could contact me as soon as they had a new A5 coupe in the showroom.....I heard nothing. Then by chance at the end of November I was in the area, so called and asked if they had one in, yes there is one in the showroom! When I went in I told the woman that came over that I'd been waiting for someone to call me about this coming in, her excuse "It only came in yesterday". I then left my details again for someone to call me for a test drive, they called me the next day. I told them the spec I wanted etc. and left it at that, he said they are waiting for their demo cars to come in and as soon as they do they will call me!!! It's now 20th January and I still haven't heard from them...so they can shove it, I'll be going to another Audi dealership for my next order.

Humm... I would have thought they would've allocated it to the factory by now. Give it another week and then ring Audi CS asking for an update. Frustrating I know...
 
Rob, as many have said your dealer is giving you a line of you know what. They may have reached their allocations of S3 vehicles back in December and are now on a wait list.
To not have an ETA builds date within 3 weeks of order is unacceptable. I strongly suggest you give Audi Customer Service a call and discuss the events you have gone through and their response.
 
Ordered our S3 Saloon on Wednesday and was told build week 15 with delivery in May
 
As I may have mentioned a few times, wonder why. I ordered end of November and have build week 20 so conservatively July delivery, also told I'd get it for March...sigh
 
I finally got a build date through on mine after some 'discussions' with the dealer. May 15 build date as @lledwoc so July delivery probably :-(

Some BS about the 2.0 Litre TFSI engine apparently, although I can't see that myself the EA888 is used in 'everything' so seems as holey as Swiss Cheese. With the amount that are being ordered and have been ordered, lease firms, general popularity etc. I think its more likely they've just burned through a couple production cycles. Just a guess, anyways, as before. Sigh..
 
I ordered my Daytona s3 s tronic in the 1st week of December,was told march delivery, its sat waiting for a boat to England now! So looking promising
 
I've been told there were issues with manufacturing the black edition packs which was why the first shipment of everything delivered to Aus never had them. They said that it's been resolved now so hopefully you get it soon. Ordered mine last week so just waiting on an order number!
 
Ordered my S3 sportback at the beginning of the month on the prediction of April delivery. Retailer has told me it's a May build slot with delivery 4-6 weeks after that. Basically told them if they can't get it moved forward in the next week or two I'm just going to cancel.

My car will be out of warranty and need a MOT by then, so kind of defeats the objective of ordering one to coincide with my car turning 3. I'm pretty pee'd off
 
Dealer has no real contol over build date, it's not a question of pro-activeness. The only real way they can cause a delay is usually:

a) forgetting to order it
b) ordering the wrong spec, finding its too late to amend it so they order a second car for you.

I'm very much the same dealer told me it's through the gates and ready to board ship yesterday so morethen likely on same delivery
