I have a 2016 audi S3 which I ordered brand new in march last year, about 2 month ago when I was driving the car at about 60mph I put my foot down to over take another car, when I done this the revs went from 2000 to 3000 straight away and the straight away dropped back to 2 thousand... when this happens it feels as though all 4 wheels are spinning?! which I know is impossible! Also when the revs shoot back down to 2000 it also feels as though it has staled! I sent the car in to audi and it took them 2 days to find out it was the haldex pump.... which I was happy about because they had found the problem and sorted it! unfortunately the car started doing it again! so I sent it back in on Tuesday 17th.... they kept the car for 3 days with no phone call and rang me on Thursday only to tell me the car was fine and they had changed to oil and flushed the system, one of the audi service team took the car out for a test drive and said everything was fine.... HOWEVER! I picked the car up and drove less than a mile before it done it again!

Basically what I am asking is.... has anyone else had this problem? if you have please help as I feel like driving the car straight through audis show room and handing the keys back! I love the car these not a thing wrong with it apart from this! HELP PLEASE!

Sounds like you need a new Haldex Pump - Take it back to Audi, unfortunately you shouldn't have to do this, but just keep on at them, the car is in warranty

As @Pederson said mate. Send it back again and say they need to change the punp, might be worth taking a tech out in the car with you for a test drive. It's not just because it's slipping abit in the cold road conditions is it?

I agree with Mark. Insist you take an engineer out. And do the same when you get it back.
Bear in mind though that if it is intermittent they may have tried and not seen it. Make sure they know the exact conditions.

As above, being an ex Audi technician we can only fix what we can witness. If the car did not play up on the technicians road test then he cannot be expected to fix it. That is why we always used to insist a customer demo'd the problem to us so we could make sure we're on the same wave length. You would be surprised the amount of people that complained of an intermittent problem, refused a demo then complained when we couldn't fix it. :wtf:

Cheers for the help lads, they already changed the haldex pump 2 month ago and when I picked it back up yesterday they said they had it out again and there was nothing wrong with it.... they also changed the oil and flushed the system to see if that helped.

I know what your saying about they cant fix it unless they whiteness it but its just my luck that it never happens when they drive it! haha.

I'm just going to have to take it in again! also I think I'm just going to have to record it when I'm driving.

Yes a recording would help also! When you book it in just mention to the service advisor you want to take the master tech out for a demo! Just keep driving around until it faults.

As Dean states an intermittent fault is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Follow Dean's advice and definitely take it out for a test drive with a master tech. I know it is an issue for you but asking a tech to find a fault like this is without you demonstrating it, is next to impossible, as it may only happen under certain circumstances you have encountered.

Is it possible you might be having issues with the clutch setup..?
I'm assuming your car is an auto..
If so there are settings that can be adjusted which alter the clutch clamping force....
Worth asking the question to the techie..
