Whilst turning my car whether it be a normal turn in a road bay-parking or general side to side action with the steering wheel I seem to get this rather loud squeaking noise from what seems to be coming from the right side of the engine/car. steering on certain surfaces tends to become hard and the steering begins to judder badly when moving. Even at Idle the car has this fairly silent but noticeable ticking noise.

Been having this issue for some time now, have had it looked by a few different mechanics/AA guys and they've all suggested the same thing, and that it being the tensioner causing the issue - I went out and fitted in a brand new Tensioner however it never fixed the issue. I was then told it's the power steering pump, again changed it and the issue is still there and seems to have gotten worse since changing the pump, but I'm not entirely sure on that.

Need some advice on what to do, I was told recently that it could be the alternator pulley... but I'd rather not go out and do all this work on my car till I get a second opinion.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Kishan exactly the same thing happened to me recently , intermittent noise then finally on Xmas day the alternator pulley had smoothed the splines out on the shaft and slid to the end of the shaft and shredded the belt luckily just before it was about to go through the plastic fan housing casing, I ended up having to buy a new alternator with pulley and belt.
Hope this helps
