I've replaced my rear boot emblem with a black matte badge. The one I got was only a millimetre or two different from the original but it doesn't really matter on the boot. However, the one I got for the front grill which is 273mmx94mmx12mm doesn't look quite right. The 273mmx94mm is the exact same as the original but the original badge is measuring about 14mm (2mm thicker than the one I got) and therefore the replacement badge doesn't look quite right. Every front grill badge that is 273x94 on ebay that I've enquired about is 12mm as well. Does anyone have a black matte front badge with the dimensions I'm after or have done the same to their A3 8V PFL?

I have an unused matte black Raywell Design badge if you want it? Bought it for my RS3 grill when I had it but it didn't fit

Could always plasti dip the origional badge matt black, this way it'll peel off if you decide you want it chrome again
Yeah I tried that while the badge was on the car and it didn't work out. I then took the badge off and fitted an aftermarket one but in the process of taking it off I broke one of the attachments on the oem badge and when I realsied the aftermarket one wasnt quite thick enough I put the OEM back on without thinking of plasti dipping it while it was off the car! Now I want to get the right thickness front badge which hopefully Ryan has so the next time I take it off I won't have to worry if I damage it!
