Audi Connect monthly cost after 3 month trial...Any ideas?

Just spoke with Audi online chat.

Deborah12:41:11Thank you for your patience. The new licensing pack for your vehicle is due to be released at the beginning of December. When this is released, your Audi Connect license will automatically update.
xxxxxxxxxxx12:42:07Ah ok - what will happen with it then? How long will it update for?
Deborah12:45:12The license will then update for a further 12 months.

Just did the same as /dev/null on Live Chat asking how to extend the Audi Connect after 1st December and they said they will arrange for it to be extended for a further 12 months free of charge and will take 5 days to arrange when they will call me to confirm.

Got a call this morning to confirm Audi Connect has been extended until 1st December 2017. Didn't even take the five days.

Thought this might be of interest to those without an embedded SIM, or MY17 owners who want to tether!

How do you access the online chat?

Edit - Ignore me. Found it on https://www.audi.co.uk/about-audi/contact-us.html

I directly emailed Audi Connect License Team in Germany and got an instant reply with one year extension.

do you have the email address still?

Could you PM me with the link too please? I have the tech pack but my licences are set to expire in 1 year. Customer Services are saying it's only the S4 that should get the 3 year subscription.

Think I might get more sense out of the Audi Connect Licence team in Germany. Thanks!

Had a call from Audi customer services. They have confirmed with Audi Germany that I have the connect subscription for 3 years, but they were unsure as to why the car says my licences expire in 1 year.

They suspected that the licences may extend when getting close to the expiration date next year, and are going to get back to me...

@mistac or @ST09 - would you be able to PM me the email address for the licence team in Germany please? - Thanks!

My 3 month free trial is due to expire in a few weeks (I've started now getting a licence expiry warning) so I was just wondering if anyone had recently been through the online chat route to get it extended to 12 months? Or if you now have to actually purchase something...

Not recently. But I did get it extended by a year I will be the end. I'm sure customer services know what they are doing now so shouldn't be as painful.

Yes, I contacted them with the online chat in November because mine was due to run out at the end of November and they extended it for 12 months within a couple of days.

Great, thanks. I'll get in touch with them in the next week or two so it's hopefully sorted before it runs out. Cheers!

Mine was due to expire on 1st February. I emailed customer services last Weds and today a week later, having received no reply other than the automated response to my email, I checked via MMI and services have been extended to 1/2/18. So 1/10 for communication but 10/10 for action.

As my 3 month trial period was due to expire in just over a weeks time I decided to use the Audi live chat yesterday to ask about the expiry and they replied that they would contact Audi Germany for me and have the licenses extended for another year. I checked this morning and sure enough everything is now extended to Feb 2018. I then even got a call from the guy I was chatting to on the live chat and he confirmed they had been extended. So 10/10 for communication and super quick action! :grinning:

Good to hear you got a speedy response robw77. I should add to my prior post that I did get a response to my email from Customer Services on day 6, and an apologetic one at that for the delay. Moral of the story seems to be for prompt attention use Live Chat.

Yep seems to be although it took me a while to spot where the live chat actually was as the main options only seem to give a phone number and email but then I eventually noticed it on the right edge of the screen :grinning:

Id be most grateful if you could PM me that address also please?

Just spoke to Abigail on the online chat and mine is getting extended for 12 months. Very odd as when I checked the expiry dates they were in 2018, but today when trying to use it they had been updated to 28/5/17.

Kinda strange some are having to request a extension to the licence, mine gave me the three years from the minute I collected the car. Is this anything to do with the differences in the mmi systems?

I think if you have the tech pack you get 3 years, but everything else gets a 3 month trial

Used the Live Chat option on the Audi website again on Friday and my 3 month Audi Connect Trial has been kindly extended for yet another 12 months to Feb 2019 - happy days!

Tech pack gets you 3 years. When I asked what happens after that I was told Audi just let it continue for free. Sales guy I dealt with said they have cars 3+ years old and connect is still working.

Yep the 3 month trial only applies to us poor non-tech pack owners. Having said that i’d still say it will depend on what your licence expiry dates are all set to on the MMI. If they are set to expire in 3 years time I’d say things will stop working once you cross that date and you’ll have to get them extended.

According to some google earth is due to stop in 2021 anyway. Whether Audi replace with something else, or how true it is, I don't know...

I also just got a second 12 month extension FOC which takes me past the end date of my contract. I'm not all that bothered about most of the MMI content - for me it's the real-time traffic info, which is invaluable, and often scarily accurate. I do think it's a bit of a cheek Audi theoretically charge for this considering basic list of my car is >£42k.

Just wanted to let you know that Audi UK customer services (0800 699888) as of 20/11/18 are still renewing the Audi connect subscription FOC for one year as "Germany are still working on a solution". They just needed car reg. no and address details. they expected it to renew in around 4 days when you will get a message up on the MMI to confirm its working.

If you're getting a MY17 it has a SIM card fitted somewhat and your data will be included - well as far as the dealer at Coventry reckons. I spoke with him about the silly amounts of data being used by Google Earth and it's only an issue if using your own sim as you have to pay for the data use!

He also said there was no prices yet as Audi don't know the data usage yet and he'd been aware of them just renewing after the 3 months if you ask them.

Hi All,
maybe this thread is bit old, but I have been welcomed by my Audi A5 with the message that MMI licence is expired (after 3 years). I have called my Audi garage and they asked my 350€ for 24month extension.
I have read some answer where someone managed to chat with Audi to get free 12 month. First of all (I am using belgian portal) I cannot find any chat.
Second of all, is there any workaround for enabling all (or part) the services (i.e. where is my car, sending address from gsm to car,...) Is a sim with data plan plugged in the car would do the trick??
thanks for your feedback

Not too sure about the second question but in regards to your first, I found the Audi connect helpline number through the app.
I called them up as my subscription was coming to an end and they have renewed it for free for another 12 months. Hope this helps

Well I did the same and I end up with the request to pay 350€. Where do you live? When exactly you get this free renewal?

Anyway as I am not willing to pay I am here wondering is anyone tried already to push in their own sim with data ...what that unluck?

thanks

The point to make here....everyone here who got a free extension, including myself is in the UK and contacted Audi UK who arranged it for them.
it looks like poster is in Belgium and therefore it's a different situation unfortunately for him.

If you are using a portal to access Audi connect then I'm not surprised to be honest. To put it into perspective, across the pond Audi Connect is subscription based from year one.

As of december 2020, this isn't possible anymore, the UK chat doesn't extend it anymore, i'll try the germany email, last hope
