I've just had this error come up. As well as a loss of power. I'm wondering if this could be due to the dtuk box? This happened Sunday aswell however I didn't lose any power and car was fine once I turned it off and on again. I've just taken the box out any ideas? Before I ring audi assist

There's a thread in b8 section that says it's an ignition coil issue?

Let's us know if Audi invoke the dreaded TD1 notification.......

Well , the audi assist (AA)man came out and said there was noting wrong with the car? he had no faults or anything come up. So I'm guessing me disconnecting the common rail , boost and ( can't remeber the third one ) sensors hadn't come up. I doubt it's to do with the dtuk box , as the box has been in for 2 months now without any problems?

Was it the new digital box? I've the old type (3 buttons, 3 menus, +-123) and Dtuk say it won't work

Perhaps it's worth getting a VCDS cable and clearing the codes each time you disconnect a sensor?

EDIT: There's been a lot of talk in this thread about the Racechip box causing start/stop faults but I think Racechip have fixed it in a recent software update. It may be worth speaking to DTUK about it.

I shall contact dtuk and see what they say! , also not sure how much vcds is but I'm sure it's over £300. I think illl just find someone who's local who can clear my faults for now and then I'll get the car booked in to see what is wrong just in case it's something else.

I have had the same problem twice now, first time it came on and went off after a mile or two and didn't lose power the second time it came on on the motorway and didn't go off until I pulled over and switched it off and on again, then it was fine and has been since, I have the DTUK box on also( had it on for two months and done around 6k so far) I was wondering if it was the box or a general fault!? Hopefully not the box! If t happens again I will take it in to the dealers with my fingers crossed!

Just an update, it happened again and threw the engine management light on,with a low boost pressure code ( something along them lines), so whipped the box off and took it in to dealers, turns out to be a faulty boost pressure sensor, had that replaced put the box back on and so far so good!

I am sure it's a relief you found out it wasn't the tuning box and an actual fault with a sensor. Perhaps also it shows that under diagnostics the fitment of the box isn't detectable...

Oh good. I've been too scared to take the car in!

I also get the stop/start error quite frequently on my B8 A4 2.0tdi. And occasionally comes up saying low battery, it will be charged during driving. I thought it could be related. But it has a revo map and doesn't feel as quick as it did so maybe a problem with sensor too?

I know this is an old thread however I’ve just had the drive system fault and reduced power on the motorway. After about 5 miles I pulled off to a safe place to park to discover 1/4 of my cars tank of fuel has leaked I presume under hi pressure from the fuel injectors side of the engine. Amazed I didn’t have a fire. Lesson for me is if I see that again stop immediately it might not be just a sensor! It’s a shame the car doesn’t have a STOP light for this like other cars do. Not great on a 2017 car with 40 k on the clock.

1.4 TFSI just been told about the recall on this. It’s the fuel rail that failed. About 3 gallons of fuel squirted out under pressure in the engine bay in about 10 mins. No fire thank god. It was serviced just prior to the recall notice but the car is leased and that information hadn’t been provided to me.

Bad for you and poor on the leasing company for not passing on a potentially hazardous recall...
