Hi Guys,

Sorry if this question has been asked, still finding my way around the forum a little so bare with me. Is there anyone producing paddle extensions for the FL S3? I've heard they're a different design to the PFL and one very minor issue I found on test drive before I ordered, was if changing manually whilst turning a corner, sometimes the paddle was slightly out of reach. Not a biggie in my eyes but would be a nice addition at the same time.
Thanks!

None yet for the FL and nothing currently marketed is compatible. Several of us have been looking. S2TPP is apparently the closest to market; they do full replacement paddles. Told me "soon"; everyone else has been completely noncommittal.

Seems a shame no one has jumped on board yet. Everyone I know with S-Tronic S3's have them, be it PFL or even the 8P's. Just a nice first little mod to have in my eyes

I agree. I've got some bucks set aside for whichever company comes out with some black anodized paddles first (that follow the shape of the wheel).

I think we're on the same wavelength in terms of what we want here, be it anodised black or even a carbon finish for me. Plus, as you said, would prefer to follow the shape of the wheel

What style of shifters do you facelift guys and gals have on your A3's? Maybe posting a decent pick of the front and rear might help other members search for you??
Would these not fit ?? ps I know it;s for an S4 but might be compatible.

This is an S3 FL and the paddles look like this and per several companies nothing on the market fits. I personally would never pay $700 for a pair of shift paddles; that's just nuts. I want black or possibly clear anodized aluminum (if it matches the dash trim). There's no carbon fiber in the car so that's out for me.

As nice as those carbon ones are and I love carbon fibre, that price is crazy!

You can get the 8W variation for like 150 euro, it's the same as the TT/R8 version, not exactly an extension but it's nicely matched and it's used in the upcoming RS3.

Do you think these will be easy to swap? The S2TPP ones just have pin which you pull out and replace... just curious if it's the same? Anyone with a facelift able to confirm if it's got pins underneath?

No pins at all Mark these may not be an easy swap :/

Same (+) paddle, top and bottom:

I know a lad who would be able to make them and anodise for extra cost too. If someone has a diagram or measurements of the standard paddles I'd be able to ask him and send it over

It's not difficult, you'll need to remove the airbag and the glossy black trim to remove the screw underneath it before you can swap it. 15 mins max if you know how to do it.

i just bought 8V model for try.. but they don't fit at all.. i'm looking for the paddles extension too. but i don't want the full replacement. the extensions are enough.

I'll have a word with the lad I know, I know he'll be able to produce ones that fit so long as I can find some dimensions somewhere

You can't just go by dimensions, the back side is curved and have ribs at the back, so you pretty much have to either mold it or CNC it to fit... And actually, I just found one that will fit FL S3!

It says A4 2017, but 8W A4/S4 is actually the same as FL S3, I know, coz I have the 8W S4 steering wheel on my PFL. These will fit for sure, and it's actually pretty cheap for anodized aluminum paddles.

And like I said, I have the 8W S4 steering wheel on my PFL, and have on order the TT/R8 type tall paddles, it should be here in a few days, if anyone want, I could post guide on how to swap it then.

Yeah he's a CNC Machinist by trade, would be easy enough to get a mould. I'll ask him at some point today

Well, hopefully you're right because I just bet $70 on you. They had a set of black paddle extensions as well that otherwise looked identical so I ordered them. Hopefully they come on the short end of the shipping date; if they do they'll be here next week. I'll post up when I get em.

Wait... I don't see any black ones from that eBay seller, which one exactly did you order? I can only tell you that my linked one will fit 100%, maybe post the link to the one you ordered?

I've got a lad on it now. Reckons it should be easy enough, UK based too so shipping will be loads cheaper

It said there was only one and the auction is now ended. It was from the same seller, same description, same price, just black.

Will they fit the PFL models as well?

Let me know how you get on guys. Are this just stick on ones to existing paddles?

The ones I got have set screws that hold them in place around the perimeter of the paddle, not adhesive. They've shipped so hopefully I'll get them quicker than the estimate.

Paddles are in the US and through customs; should have them toward the end of the week.

where did you look at?

my tracking is still on "Please try again later, we are awaiting tracking info from the carrier." (China post)

Eventually I received a tracking number via eBay, which then started working on China Post; in the US international shipments (that aren't FedEx, UPS, etc.) are delivered by the US Postal Service. I input the tracking number into the USPS website and it's now tracking the package within the US. It's the same way my Audi Sport Lanyard I imported from Germany via eBay worked.

Paddles tomorrow unless I get really lucky and they show up late today. Usually stuff arrives the day after it leaves my local postal center and that was this morning.

Oh yes! I've just test fit; going to run out and get some loctite for the little set screws.
