Just picked up a 2007 RS4 saloon.

I was thinking that as it has a Bose system (plus sub under rear shelf and amp in boot) it would sound pretty good.

The bass is almost non existent!

Couple of things:

1. Is there a seperate fuse for the amp - if so where is it?
2. Are there any tweaks to do to make it sound better? I have read about cutting the RNS-E earth wire, or removing the Bose lin from the plug in the back of the headunit but don't know where to start....

Cheers

I know you asked this a while ago, but I've only just come across it and in case it helps anyone else: I upgraded my S3 8P2 from Audi Concert to an RNS-E. The bass was rubbish in comparison, and it was caused by audio pilot being turned on - the thing that alters the volume based on cabin noise using the hands free mic. Switched this off (using vag-com IIRC) and the bass came back!

Not that it's a deciding factor to why I bought mine but I was partly intrigued by the bose system as I have an iPhone bose dock which sounds amazing and then heard that the bose system isn't great. Apparently theres a saying in the audi community along the lines "the bose blows"

Much rather have the windows down and hit that S button!:rock::rock:
