I have an S reg A3 1.8T and noticed today that the little screen is blank. Seems to have coincided with a bulb warning light coming on but probably in related. I have a sneeking suspicion this display can be turned off ?
Anyone know why it might have gone off ?

Button under wiper stalk toggles display on/off... you may have to hold it a couple of seconds but can't remember off hand

Cheers, I did try that, but possibly didn't hold it on long enough. I'll try again and report back. I blame the wife !

Just push the button under the wiper stalk briefly and your display should return. If you hold the button down it will reset your MPG/time information.

Thanks all, feeling a bit stoopid . Quick press of button had it back on. The long press clearly doesn't do anything other than reset the computer. Not sure why you would want to turn off the display ? I still blame the wife for fiddling with it.

you have to turn it off to stop noticing the broken pixel lines. and anyway who really wants to know that your selected car only does 21.4 mpg when you can buy a Fiat Punto for £300 and get 50MPG and only spend 50 quid a year keeping it on the road. ( I picked Fiats on purpose because they are the most unreliable manufacturers - apart from Audi S3's)
