Hi!
I've swapped entire mmi in my pre face lift 4F from mmi 2g high to 3G high hdd, sds etc. All is working flawlessly- CP removed however to do so I had to also change the gateway for FL one. My current gateway is 4F0910468M and there is no coding option to this unit . I could only add/remove controllers to its installation list which is helpful however no coding options. Long coding helper is down to 3 bytes without any titles , all "ticks" all empty and code is as follows 00303. I can only change it between RHD and LHD.

In addition : I know I need to change battery monitoring module for FL one and wrap it with second pin of the gateway as it's giving me ESP error randomly after few minutes from start the engine. Alternator should be changed as well soon. Secondly I did same retrofit on my mates car and is exactly the same . Third car made by my friend with battery module replaced has the same issue (Car is LHD if it makes any difference ). All of them ran adaptor from 26 to 20 pin gateways and has exactly the same issue. Adaptors made based on elsawin and were checked few of the times before installing them into cars. There is one guy from PL who has resolved it somehow but offline for very long time so I've lost all the hope to sort it out. No info in web about that at all. Appreciate any input !;)

Nah , I know his threads very well however he has not change the gateway to 20 pin one , went instead for 0071 SW . Thanks for help anyway mate :)

Yes I did change to 20Pin, and replaced my alternator. for my 3Gp setup. The 71SW gateway was when i retrofitted 3G first, but then moved to 3GP. What are you wanting to code on the gateway? You just need to select the options install on the car.

Without the alternator change you are always going to get the ESP light on the car, as the older alternator generates a different signal to what the gateway is expecting.

Hi,
As always could count on you:)
ESP is back to normal once FL Battery manager fitted - no errors and it also does work . Will get the alternator changed anyway soon.
Gateway coding is eg for high beam assist or fog light assist while turning. All changed to FL including front lights with DRL .
Any other way to get those option on apart from long coding helper ? Are they going to appear on the gateway installation list ?

Will need to check my gateway tonight, but I'm sure some of them options are part of the central electric module capability, and nothing to do with the gateway (modules list on the gateway). Remember the gateway only has options for physical modules like Engine ECU, central electrics etc, it does not have any knowledge on functions that are part of other modules, (like BT being part of the 5F module) Have you retrofitted high beam assist or cornering with the foglights?

Surprised ESP is sorted, the gateway required to support 3GP would require the FL alternator, as they gateway cannot detect a load signal from the alternator, so the engine, ESP & gearbox ecu all have fault codes regarding missing load signal.

I am not sure but this signal is going thru battery monitor as well. Weird tho as elsawin is asking to link pin 2 from Gateway to aletrnator itself. This is second car which has esp errors sorted via FL battery monitor. . Did you cut wiring in your car or made an adaptor from 26 to 20 pin ?
I did not retrofit high beam assist . I thought it's down to gateway, coding and headlights itself lol

High bean assist is down to several modules, one of them is the central electric module which does not have the required software to enable this function, fog light assist would also have the same issue. The gateway does not have that many features, it really just allows all of the modules to talk together on the different can-bus systems, and is the central point for diagnostics. That's about it!

So will leave it as it is now:)thank you. Central electronics probably has the CP as well which Is not so easy to sort out in my area . Will leave it for another retrofits to get all the cp removed in one go. Still we don't know the answer why is the coding 00303 bit won't matter . Is your long coding helper working ?
Optical scan is ok but auto scan is showing can mulfunction (on all the cars )

High bean assist was never an option on the C6, and the C7 modules won't work on the C6, so I don't believe you will ever be able to retrofit that option.

Auto scan works on my car, what version of VCDS do you have?

Btw, i've seen coding for high beam assist and also FL cars for sale with it. I am pretty sure that I had that option ready to "tick" somewhere in long coding helper but not sure where. That was only for adaptive light and would eventually work above 140km/h which is prohibited in U.K. Read that on polish a6 forum. If I had a time I would look for the manual straight from Audi showing how does it work(on c6).It's about focusing the lenses ahead on high beam + low while travelling on higher speeds. Maybe we are talking about 2 different things or maybe it's down to my lack of knowledge. Not trying to proof anything - just saying what I've seen in the past.

Think 12.12 VCDS is your issue, I've got the genuine version currently at 17.1 and don't have any issues with auto scan on my car.

This is the HBA that I'm talking about. https://www.audi.co.uk/glossary/h/high-beam-assistant.html That was never on option of the C6 or the 4L Q7.

If you find a link to a possible C6 retrofit then I would be interested, as I have that fitted to my C7 and it works very well, but the high speed can-bus on the C7 is incompatible with the C6.

Hey, yes I did find all the info including the connections and what is needed. Guys are claiming that was factory fitted in FL c6. I can translate all of it to English if you interested .
Try first with google translate plugin on your browser . Let me know if need more help :

Also e61 of my friend 07 plate had that factory fitted as well. I am pretty sure that Audi wouldn't let it go. Topic is about 2008-2011 c6 . Start from 1st page

Edit :
This is a picture taken on a retrofitted 3G to 06 plate S line with 26pin gateway (5 channel ) :

I also have the HBA on the gateway, however you also need to check the central electric (09) as there it has to be coded on that module as well. I checked my module yesterday, as I updated the firmware on central electrics to the FL version to support LED headlights. You do need the camera module near the rear view mirror.

If it helps my C6 has high beam assist, it's a 2010 model.

Also I think the high beam switch ( that one where indicators are ) need to be changed as well but need to double check that one :)

Correct, High Beam Assist was an option on C6 FL. Have retrofitted this several times. Pretty straightforward. Requires new rear-view mirror (which includes the CMOS camera), new indicator/high beam stalk, E-CAN. 2 new wires need to be run from the mirror to the gateway for E-CAN. Central Electrics unit must support High-Beam Assist.

Hello.

I will do a retrofit Mmi 2g high to 3g +
I read a lot of tutorials from people who have done this kind of modernization.

I have already purchased :

7L0971341J Complete mmi 3g + harness, b & o, electric seat, xenon and led ...
4l2035770E MMI 3G plus
4l0910465A Amp B&O
4L0919158AB Control element Rear air conditioning Climate control element
4l0919612A Audi q7 v12 4 L MMI 3 G Control element
4F0919604 7 inch MMI 3G + CID LCD Monitor Screen
4G0919129C Audi ngtv DVB-T MMI Digital 3G TV Tuner
4L0910441B MMI 3G Reversing Camera 4G0035061Q MMI3G & 3G + DAB + mmi 3g + radio tuner 8K0915181D control for battery monitoring
4L0 035 225AC straight c upright R111 (RC + TV3)
4L0 035 225AG C-pillar left R112 (FZV + TV2 + AM-FM2 + DAB)
4L0 035 225 R above the rear eyelid R24 (AM-FM1-TV1)

About the gateway, I have a doubt. I don't know which one to take based on the original options I have:
Adaptive cruise control
with side wiper assist Intermittent control with light / rain sensor
Rear view camera
heated seat
bang and olufsen
TV
Audi music interface
Rear seat entertainment
Advanced front lighting system
dab + digital tuner
homelink
key less go
etc ...

It is the same for the alternator, I don’t know which references to take Audi q7 4.2 TDI Do you have an idea on the two references that I miss. Is the reference list correct for my upgrad ?
