Hi,

I changed from a 2014 B8.5 A4 Avant 2.0 TDI just before Christmas to a 2016 C7 A4 Avant 3.0 TDI BE.

On handover the salesperson assigned the * button to toggle the media type. I have read on other threads that people have assigned the * button to drive select, however when I go into the * button settings I do not see a 'Drive Select' option. Am I missing something? or do I have to unlock the option?

Morning - mine is C7 16 reg - just checked I only have the 5 options and non of which are for the drive select. VCDS users may be able to shed some light on as to whether it has to be enabled to access it.

Well, at least its not just me then. However it is still a little annoying some people have it and others don't.

It may be a pre-facelift / facelift issue, I don't have 'Drive Select' option on my MY17 A6

I have flicked an email to Carista to see/ask if they could add it to the app. Fingers crossed.

I have a pre facelift and no drive select option

My 12 plate pre-facelift didn't have this option, neither does my 64 plate facelift model.

Just seen the option on a B9 A4, so don't think this is available on the C7 platform.

The button is just a button, it's the coding/software may be may be different for the S6/RS6 steering wheel control module. See if the standard steering module could be coded for S/RS6 and you may see the *button then just gives you drive select option.

I agree, it is just a button so the limitation should be in the coding/software so should be able to be 'unlocked' somehow.

I sent the request through to Carista so I guess its a wait and see (I don't have access to VCDS).

Hi there just found that You are discussing the same issue we have on the A7.
Any news regarding this coding?

What's the fuss about button, why can't you change drive mode from MMI? It's just one more click you need to do after pressing car button.
