One of my bulbs has started to turn purple/orange. After a year of flickering every now and then. So it's time for a new pair. As the title says, what's the best bulb and what colour to go for...

I've been looking at osram night breakers or cool blue intense.

Anyone had any experience with these?

Thanks

They are ment to be 5000K , if so 5000K is fine , it's when you go above 6500K you start really loosing output .

Lmfao , 8000K blue and 12000K purple.

just fitted these - after around 4 weeks here's my take...

Pros - light outout is impressive with good reach in the B7, award winners in UK and German motor press, nice whitish light
Cons - was hoping for a touch more blue-ish light in the outpit.

IN hindsight I might have gone for the cool blues, but these are still burning in and are still getting progressively brighter so we'll see.

There is the problem I am having... did you replace the stock ones? If so, Are they whiter/warmer than them ?

I replaced stock items which were also Osrams
They are whiter and brighter than stock, but if I'm honest they lack that blue tinge or halo-y effect that you sometimes see with new BMW, Mercs, and annoyingly also peugeots. If you like the blue-ness that is. Not a deal breaker per se, but because that's what I was hoping for, bit of a blue tinge, then I'd look at the cool blue intense if I was buying again.

Having said that - they are bright and def white, more so in both regards than stock.

Ended up buying the night breakers. I've only changed one. And it seems to be more yellowy/green hue to it. Compared to the other one. Which I believe is a Phillips vision by the product code of the one I took out.

The colour may change and brighten up over a period of time, mine are still looking ever more whiter, and they were fitted 6 weeks ago.

I've ended up buying both was running one of each and now swapped out the other night breaker today. Couldn't really which one I perfered running one of each
