As long as you get it before April 1st mate

I'm hoping! Not entirely sure on the new VED changes as to whether they are including options in the £40k limit or not. Gov.uk doesn't specify!

It includes the options and is the list price before any discounts.

Yeah I wondered that. I should get mine end of Feb, so I'll wait a few weeks til March for it to be registered. But, if your into April, is it one of 2 things for the VED over £40k...

1. RRP of the car including options
2. Price you actually pay for the car, so you could have a £45k car and only pay £39k & so you avoid it

Beat me to it. Ouch. I think £40k is abit low to be honest... should be more like £60k. Yet again, UK Gov taking the motorist for a ride. £500 a year for 5 years is stupid, new car sales for premium models will fall through the floor I think.

I agree. I wasnt planning to buy my S3 until the summer but I heard about this a few weeks ago and ordered as soon as I could. The dealer said not many people know about this. If it wasn't for a post on this forum I would have never of known! Seems like it is going to be a bit of a shock when people actually find out!

I've not seen that on anything official though, gov.uk literally just says - To ensure those who can afford the most expensive cars make a fair contribution, a supplement of £310 will be applied to the SR of cars with a list price (not including VED) over £40,000, for the first 5 years in which a SR is paid.

I've been paying around £500 a year for the last 8 years so was looking forward to paying less for a while

That's odd, mine was ordered 15.10.2016 according to the system. Yet I'm BW4.

seems very odd! was originally build week 9 but moved forward one week!

spoke to audi bradford and they have told me they are confident it will move forward to 3/4 but i don't think they really know...

Mine started off as being built 26/01 and is now 09/01, Swindon Audi advised they always come in 2 - 4 weeks early, fingers crossed!

I spoke to the dealer about this, and as usual as a customer I knew more about it than them, I asked if it comes after April 1st is the price increase on me or you. I'd already looked into it before going and we came to a general consensus that from a contractual point of view having signed the invoice the OTR costs including taxes had been agreed. Now it's probably the case that if something goes wrong for them it's on the customer and if something goes wrong for the customer it's on the customer. But in theory you've ordered and agreed on the OTR cost so they should have to take the hit. Who knows...

Let me know how you get on, it will be interesting to know what happens... I'd imagine it will come up quite alot in the next few months.

Got her cleaned ready for a weekend of fun filled miles. About 250 miles done so far, the way these cars pickup speed still surprises me every time I put my foot down.

Hoping for some sunshine so I can get a few good shots and will share.

Have a good weekend guys :racer:

Nice regy Fraz.....???? HIDE IT ***...man...lol

Collection day was meant to be yesterday but could not make it due to being stuck in the studio the night before, but today...

FullSizeRender 4 FullSizeRender 5

Love that it has been supplied with P-Zeros, well actually I hate them but they are sooooo much better than the Conti's Audi normally supply... in my mind anyway. Hate hate hate the new steering wheel! I have retrofitted a couple but never driven with one until today and find it too thin. Hate that there are no footplates in the rear also. Liking everything else so far tho :)

Modding starts tomorrow :)

Just a dumb colonial question. Why do you get so paranoid about showing license plate registration
The bad guys are somehow going to know personal info like your address, name and date of birth? Address/name would not bother me too much, as those are easy to find but date of birth would.
Any examples you can show of why you must obscure license plate registrations, as they are clearly visible on any road for anyone to note.

I ordered the BE blind and figured it would be like the 8P BE in that trims would be black but front / rear splitters would be grey. Turns out the rear is gloss black and the front, well it's redesigned with no detail to colour.
