@batch cheers mate, I was hoping you'd (or one of the other nutters) turn up! Been looking online all night for the right bit name word thing! But all I was finding was vwracing parts and that would be wrong!

Ordered.. you a ledge
Pleasure mate - what colour have you gone for?

I'd like a red one but I went for black for the same reason ha.

I may end up selling mine and getting a red turbo technics intake pipe.

I like the TT pipe but Revo are bringing out a new carbon air box lid with a larger diameter outlet that won't work with it so sticking with my CTS inlet

Oh well, I'm still not decided so we see how it goes.

This is the Revo air filter lid that should be out soon with improved air flow into the turbo inlet - the outlet is a larger diameter than standard so comes with a new Revo silicon hose ......

Ramair do a intake hose on Ebay £45 which is probably no different than the forge one except for the name but they only come in black

Which part are you thinking about mate, the Revo front intake ? Every little bit to increase air flow into the turbo helps so yes plus it looks awesome ! ;o)

yup looks sexy, but more to take off when it goes in to audi :)

just not sure about the fitting as i read that many of you guys haven't used the bracket or didnt like the STD bolts

LoL I like you're thinking mate. I didn't fit the brkt but after having the intercooler fitted something moved so I needed it so that it fitted correctly to the air box as the water hose was holding it off slightly. Bolts are easily fixed, M5x16 hex dome from Ebay ....

Installed my CTS inlet and ECS silicone intake pipe.
Fitting was a 5 minute job, but I spent another 5 minutes trying to get the silicon hose to sit perfect.
Anyway driving wise, using the good old bum dyno, I can say there is more induction noise, power delivery is more urgent than before, not saying it's an increase in bhp, I mean before installing when you mash the pedal down power comes in linear, now it comes in a tad more aggressive.
It's not a massive wow mod. I'll give it some time.

Have you tried in it the engine bay ? - in the pic the convoluted part of the OEM pipe looks compressed to its shortest length.

hey rob yes, it fits snug over the CTS TIP(all the way down to the valve bit!) but its the airbox end that its far too long for and the airbox is in the way of it going over the lip anymore (if that makes sense..

my picture shows the length and its the airbox end thats approx 2inches too long.. I'm reluctant to cut as it would be on the bend pretty much..

*edit.. id imagine on anything other than OEM airbox it will be fine ..

:(

Hmm that sucks - id be tempted to cut the extra off with a Stanley knife but that makes return impossible and might reduce resale value depending on how smooth the cut is. If it got to you practically next day then give them a ring tomorrow probably get a new one Thursday !

Don't take this the wrong way @zippster but have you had a play with it? Turned it around, twisted, all sorts?

Yes mate, and no offence... I literally tried it every which way but loose but no luck, I even took the air box lid off and that's when I discovered no matter how hard I push it cannot go any further on due to the plastic preventing it ..

I've emailed them.. let's see what they say.. did you fit yours to the STD box?

No mate, went on the VWR but shouldn't be any different? Sounds like they've somehow packaged a similar part under the label for the MQB item?

I copied aand pasted from VWROC forum of person that also installed the Forge inlet hose."
"I actually put it on a few weeks ago but been away. Good difference in size, no bad effect anyway,I can only imagine its doing its bit. I have fitted it to the R600 and the angle when fitted was a little tight so I trimmed around 2cm off the airbox end to make it fit that little bit better."

<UPDATE> quick update from forge motorsport.

cutting a long story short there has been a problem with the 'tooling' and they have made several batches incorrectly of all silicone piping incorrectly so when resolved they will be sending me another in replacement. by the sounds of it its a BIG **** up across the board.

in the meantime they told me to to 'hack' away if i like on the current one as they dont want it back! :)

so today i be mostly going at it with a knife and scissors :)..

superb customer service from forge motorsport so much so i wouldn't hesitate on using them again!

well following the advise and guidance from you guys above its on! had to cut about 1.5inches off but it fits like a glove! :) cut was perfect until i had to undo the jubilee clip and move it around, but hey ho it will do until the replacement arrives :)

butt dunk tested and can conclude there is more induction noise and pretty sure boooooost comes up quicker.

FYI i have

removed the snow grate
ITG panel filter
CTS TIP
and now the Forge intake pipe and its a noticeable difference over OEM (confirmed last week when i reverted to stock when it went into audi)

bang for buck! IMG 1064IMG 1060

Sounds like a plan. I will Be buying the full revo mqb thing after Chrimbo.. as I want that air box top

Stupid question ... all these mods to the turbo intake it can't have a detrimental effect right? Too much boost ?

I don't think so mate just basic tuning principles smoothing airflow in and out of the engine - I've all the above plus the CTS boost hoses and bigger intercooler and all is running fine ;o)
