Previously owned a C6 Audi A6 S-Line 3.0 - car was pretty stock apart from tints and factory fitted 19" split rim BBS wheels, car was a great servant causing me no issues in 3 years apart from eating tyres - I had that car remapped using bluefin and was very happy with the additional performance and economy it gave!

As the C6 was getting on a bit (2004 model) I decided it was time for a change, and after struggling to fit in an A5 (and not being entirely happy with the driving position) I decided I would get another C6 - only really considered Audi due to the awesome customer service I have received from Halesowen Audi during the ownership of my C6.

Had always liked the C7 since it came out, and would have got one over the C6 if I could have afforded to at the time. I went to test drive a 2 year old car with 20k on the clock in daytona grey, already decided on a black edition as I wanted the BOSE stereo again. I really liked the car but I just couldn't resist the C7.5 it just looked a lot fresher in terms of looks, and the idea of the ultra engine really appealed to me as I do a fair amount of mileage and most of it is on the motorway.

So after a 6 week wait, she arrived (car was already on stock order to my dealership) - she's completely stock, but obviously a black edition C6 comes with a fair few toys!

I've since treated her to a coating of CarPro Hydro which is awesome stuff, will have to get some videos up of the water behavior on the body work! I haven't really got any plans for her apart from regular detailing which has become something of a hobby of mine.

Will use this thread to add reviews/opinions on the car, and happy to accept any suggestions for subtle mods.

Nice one! Forgive my ignorance but what does the 'Ultra' package add to the Black Edition?

I was about 1/2 way through the third tank, but all depends on the driving you do and amount of traffic.

But it's not real world driving, you won't get anywhere near that driving around the UK roads.

"The route was painstakingly picked by the RAC, which has more than 100 years’ experience of providing European breakdown cover for members, to avoid the mpg-sapping effects of built-up, congested towns, cities and mountains."

Who cares, it just proves it can be done.

can get 46 mpg if I sit at 69 mph but ............... thats hard honest officer its the cars fault not mine governor

Been to the dealers tonight to get the number plates replaced as the front one had some dirt under the laminate, and the rear one hadn't been trimmed

Queried why the interior lights don't come on when the ignition is turned off, which is a bit annoying, but apparently it's normal - as I live in an area with no street lighting it's very dark parked on the driveway at night so hard to find phones/keys

Overall still really happy with the car, and the mpg seems to be getting better as the engine beds in :)

can only get 400 out of the tank on ours but its the bitdi :)

I'm surprised at that! I've owned my 15 plate Bitdi for 3 weeks now. 1st tank i got 580 miles (couple of long journeys in there), second tank got 510 which is my normal driving.

My previous 62 plate S4 averaged 20mpg, so the MPG is great, considering my driving hasn't really changed.

I've noticed this with mine also! Interior lights only come on when the doors are opened!

I'm pretty sure my interior lights come on when switching off the ignition. Are you pressing the ignition button until the MMI display retracts? (Once to turn off engine, another time to switch off ignition?)

i will try this, i'll admit with the start/stop always switching the engine off i rarely use the button to turn the ignition off

It works! Will have to let Audi know as they don't think it does lol

itching to do some mods to my car... only alternative is to buy a 2nd car as a project

ideas welcome!

Only thing I've done to mine is added mud flaps, I'm waiting for another 6-8 months of reliability before I start making any changes, TV tuner, front & rear camera's (F770) etc. All remaps are out, don't want to invalidate the engine, gearbox & drive train warranty

i was looking at the F770, i won't be keeping the car long term

Where do you start? Air ride, coloured seat belts, starter button, bigger wheels, remap, wrap, exhaust, flat bottom steering wheel (unless you already have one), interior retrim, rear spoiler, there's a few for you.

Are you talking around 2 years? If so I would not bother touching the car. I'm looking to keep my car at least 5 years, as I took out the extended warranty, so don't mind putting a few extra £££ into the car, but If I was getting shot in around 2 ish years then I would not bother, other that removable mods like dashcam etc.

Probably 2-3, I think I'll be too tempted to trade in when the next A6 is released

Think that will be early 2018, also think this will be my last A6, at some point in the next couple of years I'll sell my older C6 and move back to an A8, don't really need two A6 estate cars once the little one has grown up, and no push chairs etc.

I don't think there is much you can do with the current C7, there is already loads of standard equipment on the s-line models, and if you don't want to lose a tone of money on depreciation & mods then keep it simple to wheel, dash cams etc. Stuff you can sell on, or fit to the C8 if possible.

early 2018 isn't far off, would be around the 2 year point for me - A8 will be my choice once i'm over 40 :)

Racshop have a discounted deal on the F770 - but currently out of stock

That is not a bad price. I had an A8 when I was into my early 30's It may be a big old bus, but the 4.2TDi push it along nicely, and out of all the Audi's I've had over the year it's the only car I really missed.

Think I will just leave her standard and keep her sparkly, seriously considering a project car

I've been thinking the same regarding a project car... i was thinking a MK4 Golf R32... still VAG
