hey there!

So recently i had my car overheat on me, it turned out the water pump was bust so i took it to my mechanic and got that changed and the timing belt aswell. After i got it back from my mechanic it seemed to sound a little deeper and i felt a slight lack in power. Got it checked it gave a fault code about the cam shaft sensor, however my check engine light hasnt come on. could there be a relation between the cam sensor and the lack of power/deeper engine note I'm experiencing?

What was the code?

I can't remember the code exactly , i think it said something along the lines of the sensor could not be reached.

I've also experienced some fluctuation of the rpm at idle , sometimes more prominent than others and sometimes i can feel the car vibrate too, not sure if this issue is separate or related.

Cam position is an important sensor... actual code would help diagnose the issue... rescan it and post if you can..

However... on re-reading your post and the fact you had a cam belt change I would put money on the fault code being incorrect correlation... which means the belt is a tooth or more out top to bottom...

Belt will need to be re-timed, this will cause a drop in power...
