Hello new here, after advice my 2007 Q7 has lost Bluetooth, and the display is saying telephone not installed, located the unit removed it and refitted it hoping that might work , ive run a scan with a code reader and it's saying telephone transceiver no signal so I assume the module is faulty, i can buy a second hand unit but I am getting conflicting information saying it would need reprogramming or is it a straight forward plug and play, thank Ben

You can buy a second hand unit, but beware of buying a faulty one, lots of these A6/Q7/A8 MMI 2G phone ECU's around with faulty firmware.

If you can find one ending with the M Prefix, you know it's been updated. A second hand one will probably be already coded as it's pretty standard.

Or you can buy a new from Audi on an exchange basis and ask a nearby forum user with VCDS to code it for you, generally the code should 0010920

This guy is selling modules and the last photo shows an MX module, this should be good

Thanks for your advice, so what your saying a good second hand one should fit with no programming needed? I found one for sale and even the seller said I would have to go to audi to get component protection removed, When I removed my one it was different from most pictured on eBay as it has 4 plugs as one in photo.

Ah, you have rSAP, the high end phone, not the standard bluetooth. It is a system that can clone your phone (as long as it supports rSAP) and use the cars roof antenna for better signal.

It's not very common to have this system, I used to fit them in place of the fixed SIM based handset in older A8's, not something you ever saw in a Q7

So your looking for an rSAP module.

All news to me, that's the type of unit I found behind the seat, sounds like it's not that straightforward then!
