2017 - S5 Incomming!

Hi all

Currently have a 2014 Audi S3 - Estoril Blue with lots of extras and have been getting itchy feet for a new car for ages as I have never really "clicked" with the S3. (too soft, engine sound is a bit meh and dealer troubles from pick up...long story)

RS3 not available until end of next year and all the good spec current dealer ones snapped up a few months ago, nearly new RS4's and RS5's seem really high interest rate to purchase, TTRS would be ideal but soooo overpriced and the NEW S5 caught my eye.

I have now put a deposit down on:

3.0 Coupe
Navarra Blue
Flat Bottom Steering Wheel (why it's not standard I don't know)?
Pano Roof
Storage Pack
B&O System
Suspension Upgrade
Vision & Light Pack
Sports Diff
4 Years warranty

Managed to snag a £7000 discount using brokers sites, one quoted £10,000 discount but it seems they didn't know that there was a NEW S5 available to order even though the broker website was showing this... doh!

Build week is 5 so hopefully pick it up at beginning of March and miss the Road tax Hike!

It seems that the A5/S5 section isn't as busy as the A3/S3 but hopefully others have new cars on order and we can all share our experiences?

Ive just ordered a 2017 S5 sportback with Navarra blue, red brake calilers but no B&O ir vc. Im hoping Im not going to regret the lack of B&O and virtual cockpit though.

Expected into dealership early April. Can't wait!!

I sat in a showroom coupe car on Friday in red and it was stunning! The interior was soooo nice, you have to get VC it just makes the car. B&O for me is a must as I love my tunes.

I have also gone for the extended light pack which the showroom car had and you can change the doors, footwells and other strips around the car to dozens of settings or go for a couple preset ones like blue, red or sports thats white on the lower part of car and red at top of doors... gimmicky but subtle.

The wheels are nice and the car just looks classy.

I have Navarra on order but the volcano red was stunning... I was disappointed that Ara blue is not available in the UK though....

Yes, it's definitely a shame there were no other special S5 colours available other than navarra and the red.

Still trying to get photos and videos of the navarra blue sportback specifically but very few available as its probably not even hit showrooms yet.

Hopefully navarra wont be a bad choice when on SB!
 
Chimp, which broker did you go with? I'm working through a quote with Orangewheels, but I'm toying with changing over to a A5/S5 if the deals are right.

Was a standard colour on the previous S5, but looks like an Exclusive one on the new S5.
Certainly a great colour and rare too!

I had an S5 before my RS3 and loved it and the new one looks amazing !

Initalling tried Orange wheels and was coming in at 5k discount, then tried car wow and the best offer I received was £7100. I happened to receive a call from my usual Audi Dealer and I mentioned as he couldn't locate an RS3 and the TTRS was mega expensive with the high apr per month he said he would match the quote!.
 
I have also ordered the S5 in Navarra Blue, due late March (before new tax rules come in!!!)
Cant wait.

ordered my S5 end of October and due to get it on Thursday spec below (decided against the red brake's and the HUD as i don't feel its worth the money)

Will do only thing is it's getting no dealer prep done so I don't expect it to be clean on pickup as it's going to my detailer on Monday for the full works

Wow. Can't wait till the black pack comes out on this. Specced up how I'd have it on orange wheels, 48.8k...yet discount is 7.2k lol, so 41.5k...mental!!!!

Ridiculous you can already get such a big discount! I got £8.5k off my B8.5 S5 Nov 2015...! Granted the list price of my BE is a fair bit less than the new model (based on the price difference on the standard model), but still...!

Yeh, couldn't agree! Amazed how they can punt them at such prices. Never dealt with the likes of carwow or organgewheels but I might have to at these rates.

Sad enough to go on the German configurator...specced a mythos black s5 with black pack and red leather and titnted windows...wow it looks good!!!!!

Wonder how the new S5 is to map also, over 400bhp surely

Based on those discounts, I could get the new S5 for £20 per month cheaper than I'm paying now with the same deposit. Although mine is a BE with B&O, reversing camera and privacy glass. Also I'm not a big fan of the chrome.

Yea they've recently cracked the new ECU on the current B8.5 model (for some reason the updated the ECU...) and you can already get over 400bhp. Very tempted.

I really want to test drive one to see how the turbocharged compares to my supercharged, and how the new gearbox compares.

The vent, The carbon trim is about 250 more over the standard aluminium trim on the s5 to be honest the way it contrasts the other silver trim inside it's worth it

The car looks amazing! Love Daytona too. I am now thinking the carbon might be worth adding... but quite expensive to add ontop of all the other extra's I have picked already!.

For myself the carbon atlas trim was a no brainer, I believe its now a S5 only trim. the car is currently in getting a full new car detail along with ceramic protection, ill post some pictures of it after its first clean.
 
Yes I think Atlas looks nice, better than previous A4's (older ones) I used think it looked cheap and plastic like.

In regards to the ceramic coating, which one are you going for? I have Liquid Elements on my Estoril Blue S3 as I believe that is a very soft crystal paint and the detailer suggested it as its something like level 9 hardness like almost diamond hard.... I still have stone chips.... so don't know if it helped much. The bonnet and some of the front wing area don't seem to shed water like it did in the first year so thinking the 3-5 years its meant to last is a bit of a stretch.

I don't have many swirls though as I am extremely careful with the paint work... but I miss not waxing the paint.

Looking forward to the pics mate!

its just back from detailing and its got 12 month Gyeon Q2 MOHS ceramic coating, detailer told me the car's paint felt like sandpaper but now its like touching glass :)

Unfortunately our weather sucks so its a tad wet, but its all beading off it nicely

You can wax on top of ECO-Shield :)

I still have a bottle of ECO shield in my cupboard to apply to my S5 since I got it last year....!

Stunning car! I have just placed an order on a S5 Sportback, however I was torn over the Panoramic Sunroof for ages, decided against it in the end as it didn't appear to be the same type of Panoramic Sunroof in my Benz (the whole roof is glass and it opens fully...

Any chance you could send me some pictures of your roof both inside and out open and closed etc???

I know its a big ask but it would be massively appreciated as I cant stop thinking I may have made a mistake in not ordering it.

What sort of numbers are people getting?

The discounts are sizable, but with the APR being what it is the monthly payments do seem quite high.

The best quote I received (last week) was £4k personal deposit, £550 pm, GFV 22k on 4 year PCP. This is on a £53k car.

Loving that colour mate. I've spec'ed mine with Manhatten grey, but I'll need to see both in person to decide.

If you deal with a dealer directly you can get it in any colour mine almost came in panther black but at a huge additional cost
